Great idea! I just ordered a stick of Delrin to play around with as my guard is also pretty much destroyed. I also wonder if they could be 3D printed in nylon...?

Got mine from Greg last August but haven’t installed it yet. Nice looking piece. Will put it on this month so I’m ready for the spring!

Just curious what "2 piece" gets you that just adding a groove in the original type doesn't?

It allow the piece under the chain to spin separately from the part under the loom.

I own two of these, one on each of my bikes. The advantage of two pieces is, the small piece that slides over and traps the wiring harness in place, doesn’t spin much due to the separation. Thus protecting your wiring harness from friction damage.

How would you go about attaching a delrin sheet to the original, where the rubber was? Or is there something more glue-able that can be put there as a replacement? Maybe shoe sole rubber and barge cement? I think the old barge would do it, no experience with the new blue version.
