I recently purchased two XS650'S a 1973 and a 1980. The 73 motor has a hughes handbuilt partially installed. Could i switch it out to the 80 motor? The 80 motor is in the hardtail.

Welcome to the forum.If you're referring to the PMA, yes you could swap it, but the 80 motor uses a crank fired ignition. You'd have to replace that also.

Thanks Jim. i think a have all the parts except for the CDI ignition unit.
