WJL AKA Wrenchjohns Legacy 70 XS1 in gggGary's hands

Brackets were kinda thin on the no name mirrors, they bent and let the mirror rotate, grr. Straightened bent brackets with a bolt, washers in a sandwich then a tighten a nut to press them flat . Then a bit of heavy wall aluminum tube for a spacer, about 5/8" long and a couple of stainless washers and all good. Note I filed a bit of clearance for the handlebar into the spacer

Replaced the plug wires that were so "entertaining" at the Iowa rally. Hope I never get the chance to find out if these work better in a downpour.
While I had the tank off did a bit of wire and cable strapping, rerouting.

Sorry for jumping in... but is the bike still For Sale?

I love this particular model and would like to discuss buying it. I live in Mequon, Wi and could visit the bike if it available.

Thanks,

Gary

Brought ole WJL in for a go around with rags and polish.
beep beep text.
"Um changed my mind, not coming. Guess more of a project is what I'm looking for..."

Was I conflicted about selling?
Well maybe.......
And she's back under a sheet in the shed.

Chances to own a nice early one don’t come around too often. Out of all the motorcycles that were built 50 years ago, I have to believe that only a small percentage of them are still road worthy. Let alone calendar worthy! ;)

Now you need to get to work so you have a early bike to ride to the Ozarks next spring. You got anything left?
That red 72 you just bought could be a good candidate. :poke:

Good candidate for YOU Mr 72. That bike was run hard and put away wet (literally) Motor is fine? cosmetics not so much.

Don't care what it looks like. As long as it resembles a early bike it will attract attention when we stop.
I have a 72 that will make the trip, I hope.
