Prayer request for my son

hope he’s coming along OK, pretty nurse can’t help but speed things along, only ladder mishap I recall is going to fold up an A frame 10 footer and “someone” had left a lump hammer on top of it, knocked me stupid, blood pouring down my face, took the rest of the day off to go and get stitches, doc said I had a concussion, felt pretty dumb.

Update: He did not go home yesterday after all. His movement is too painful, the PT says he has to be able to get out of bed by himself first and he can't yet.
His x-ray shows significant bruising on one lung. It is not pneumonia and may not become so, but that is still a concern he tells me.
And I am failing as a dad by my inability to not make him laugh. Then again, he needs to exercise those lungs to decrease the risk of pneumonia...

Prayers and best wishes for your son. I spent 3 days in intensive care and after being on the death and destruction beat for 20 years I could tell some of the nursing staff were a little concerned about my mental health due to my dark humor.
I have to somewhat censor myself in public. My favorite was years ago at dinner at a local restaurant, my 5 year son asks " Who is going to shot the governor tomorrow, you or John (my editor)". I could see the man sitting behind him searching for his phone. I finally made eye contact with him and told him it's ok, I'm a photographer for the paper. Took a second to sink in and then a smile.

Great news, they let him go home today! I just spoke with him and he is super sore from it all. He is happy to be in own recliner and can get out of it okay. He cannot walk up his stairs yet so he will be sleeping in his chair.

And once more, I couldn't help but make him laugh. It hurt my feelings to hear his pain but it is so good to hear him period.

Glad to hear your son is home safe Boog!
My dad broke his thumb and his back (L5) cross country skiing last week. Of course, he insisted on driving himself to the ER even though my mom was with him. Stay safe everyone! Not a great time to need acute care.

 Good to hear he's doing better. The prayers are working. The accident happened at work, so it should be handled under worker's compensation. As such, he shouldn't let them rush him back to work. Second and third doctors' opinions could be required, especially given the severity of his injury. The last time I asked for a second opinion, the doctor said "...you're ugly, too...." (don't tell him that )
