Rocker box stud sleeves.

Either by design or accident :) Mid-production cost savings of a few pennies is a common thing when somebody realizes something isn't necessary...
It's necessary. The outer holes comprise part of the oil pressure passageway that feeds the rockers. Without the sleeve and o-ring, oil will run back down the stud and into the sump, starving that rocker and cam lobe of oil.

However you will get leakage from the valve covers, no matter what you do...
That is BS. I've rebuilt 2 motors and used Yamaha's approved sealer on both. No leaks. When tearing down both engines it was obvious the factory had used sealer.

Well it matters to me. If you're gonna pedal some bullshit idea to someone building an engine, back it up or quit doin' it.
We live by the good graces of others. For that reason, I've consciously avoided calling out your own bullshit ideas. Or if you'd rather duel, name the time and the place :) GLJ can be your second.

Two sleeves may be wrong. I admitted that. I did not say to only use two.

Feel free to share my bullshit ideas here... or shut the fuck up. :D

I was talking about the four valve covers there, not the rocker cover. They were born to leak. Like all valve covers...

That says more about your mechanical abilities than the XS. My 80 doesn't leak. The previous 2 I've owned didn't leak.... and I've got a 70something run stand where the valve covers don't leak. Maybe you should just stick to what you do best... bullshit suggestions and make believe duels...

Now you are switching from rocker covers to valve covers. My valve covers don't leak either.

How would anyone know what you are talking about when it's obvious you don't.

Those tubes, don't they have something to do with holding the rocker arm shaft in place?
