Got an open mind? Consider this.

Despite my job, I am not a car-proud person. To me a car is like the stapler in my office.
When I need it, I use it but I sure don't lie awake at night thinking about it.
Boy not me. I was a car guy way before I was a bike guy. My go-to ride is my classic Bronco. If not that I'm in my Triumph GT6 or 1965 Mustang or our CJ5. Our only automotive, soul-less, appliance is my wife's '11 Escape which is as boring as it sounds.
Life is too short to drive a boring car.

You calling my MAGA van boring? :boxing:

I was thinking about coal and oil industries. I don't really know anything about corn.
Most of the gasoline has ethanol in it. We (the consumer) get about $0.30 per gallon subsidy on E10. I know corn is subsidized, but I really don't know how it works. It's maddening to me to look at all the GMO cornfields. What they're doing causes the soil to end up in the Mississippi. Not to mention, I'm not interested in consuming glyphosates. I speculate it's a reason the U.S. leads the world in cancer rates. Talk about rabbit holes!

Mebby not for the open road but round town or the back roads for an hour or 2.... :geek:
Back to Gary's original post.
As of right now I have no use for a e-bike. I prefer my polluting IC 650 or BMr.
That being said down the road 10-15-20 years I may need to think about something like that.
Couple of reasons: If e-vehicals take over gas may become very had to come by.
More likely my 650 may be more than I can physically and comfortably handle. A lighter bike could be just the ticket. By then the e-bikes will be 100 times better than today. Never say never.
I'll still keep my XS2 if for no other reason than just to look at and maybe sit on it and go "VAROOM VAROOM".:)

Yeah.... with that in mind... yes, I'd buy one. I'd never get rid my XS and I've spent my lifetime working on recip engines, they're baked in for life. But.... I've always looked at new tech with a kind of "let me at 'em" attitude. They fascinate me and I'd love one for a toy.
A few more years of maturity and hopefully, a corresponding drop in the price point... and yeah, I'll get one.

Have to wonder if the aftermarket parts will be just "foo foo" parts or will their be some performance parts?
More voltage = More power!

Ever since the first wheel was made, people found ways to make it faster. Yeah... expect a whole cottage industry of go fast stuff.

I just can't wrap my head around electric motorcycles. It's like "Van Halen" without Eddie. Peanut butter without jelly. Masturbation isn't sex. Haha! I'll deal with it because nothing last forever. Has Harley officially died yet or still in a coma? Their electric bike went over like a fart in church.
Edit: Electricty is dangerous. You guys answer a lot of question on this forum. Thank you. How freaking safe is it gonna be for a non experienced person to work on these? You're telling "newbie" people which way to turn a wrench now. Just saying,

It isn't gas vs electric, but what is prestigious. That's why Elon Musk created an electric super dragster associated with a space program instead of an improved Chevy Volt. There aren't many hard core gasoline fans who wouldn't prefer a Tesla at this moment. I think the OP product is a stillborn also-ran because they missed that. There's nothing luxurious there, just creepy minimalism.
