Big Bore Big Block Kit i just found on a new source!

I looked through the muffler section and the only Commando mufflers listed have the same part numbers and pretty much the exact same description, down to the letter, as the Commando mufflers MikesXS sells. They're even described as "an XS Performance part". Leads me to think they're the same. If they were that new production run of the old, better style with the removable bolt in the baffle plate, one would think that would be mentioned in the part description because it's THE major selling point for them.

If there were a new muffler option out, We All would be grateful and likely spreading the good news to 3 continents quickly.
:)
The lack of muffler options is a known issue to all XS650 owners, well except for the new first time XS owners anyway.

Going through the exact thing at the moment...........after market slip on mufflers for older bikes are very thin on the ground.

Well the good thing is with a new site, even if it is the same old stock, will brig down prices from the other sellers.............the not so good is if overseas sales are restricted then we will be going to the next best and they will be able to keep their prices up.....???

I made up a list back in 2013 comparing MikesXS with 650 Direct. 650 was selling the Bolt on filter/cooler for $64.00 and mikesXS had blown out to $150.00 because it was a cool piece, and they had a monopoly and could.........Hugh made one, his price was $120.00.........they started to pop up on ebay for $100.00 so Hugh had to drop his price last i saw it was around the $90.00 mark.

Now MikesXs sells his for $100.00........650 direct for $88.00...... and here on....Yamaha650.com for, $79.00.

650 skull - No idea who deleted it but someone seems very quick to this. Mufflers are the original
dyno tuned design which look like emgo's but with the correct baffles, etc.. Current Mike's XS thinks the emgo mufflers
are good but ours have many features the emgo's do not. Nothing we sell has been switched to a
cheaper type so you get what Mike Lalonde was selling before he sold the Biz. Mike and Heiden worked hand in hand on
design, Heiden tested most things , Mike some and Mike had it put in production. At one time
95 % + of all xs650 aftermarket parts worldwide went thru his hands. The Buyers of Mikes XS raised the prices about 1/3rd.
right after they bought the company where as Mike tried to keep prices reasonable. Note: We will not sell outside
the country until we are running a while and get the bugs out of the site. The web site build went thru three builders
and the first two ripped us off ( #2 ) was go daddy. The virus has made everything go out of wack. what should take 2 days now takes
three weeks or more. We really do not care if you buy or not. If things don't sell we will liquidate it all and call it a day.
No one can match our price so if you want hand holding or other special services then go where you can get that.
One big difference now is service info can be found here most of the time.

Guess i have been told...........lol

OK, so you're saying the Commando mufflers you have are the old original design with the baffle plug bolt? If so then you should update their product description to reflect that. As I said, that's a major selling point for them. Unfortunately, the 1.5" inlet version says you only have one left in stock. I thought you had a bunch of these mufflers made up. You've sold nearly your entire supply in the day or so your web site has been up?

Hey guys found a new source for the Big Bore Big Block Kit, check out the price!!!!

LOL you didn't find a new source..........this is your shop ..........

When I saw 650trader's post, my first thought was cool he has his business up and running and my second thought was how his new source was able to supply big bore kits so cheap.

Never entered my mind that 650trader was trying to be deceptive. I've known for some time from postings that 650trader was associated with MikesXS somehow or another and that he was planing on supplying 650 parts.

Joe choose a very good way to get my attention by offering the big bore kit @ that price point.

Has to be really hard to start a new new business in this climate and for me I'm happy that someone new was willing to support the 650. With parts from MikesXS,MMM,Sumo Rubber and now with @650trader I have been able to find all of the parts to complete Old Brown. 750 kit on it's way to me . The 880 kit is crazy.

Is it just me or is there a shake up in the 650 parts trade? I notice that Mike's is now willing to throw stuff over the northern border, outfits like Sumo Rubber and yamaha650.com springing up, and other strange behavior.:umm:

@5twins my remembory is that the mufflers we (well I) loved were the slightly longer 27 1/2?" not the 26" At least that's the set I bought and used 3 or 4 times.
@Team Junk Wait, what? they are selling an 880 kit?

Yeah there are lots of changes.
I'm guessing the old order was mainly Mike Lelond's doing, he had pretty stiff rules regarding who he sold to and where they could market and sell. For whatever reason those "rules" are now relaxed and a competitive battle has begun. It won't last forever, there will be winners and losers.
Remember there was a Florida seller back a few years ago that sold off a stock of XS650 parts at a discount over part of a year but far as I could tell from a distance it was a one shot deal. Someone got left with unsold inventory as part of a MikesXS sale? and moved it via a web site. I bought from them several times but it didn't stay in business very long.
Skull throw in your hat and open an Australian XS650 business, I've always wondered why Australia, such a hot bed of old bike aficionados doesn't have a competitive parts retailer.

Capitalism at it's finest. I think you are spot on that. In the won't last forever category is 750 kits that cheap. I plan on ordering another one to put away in cosmoline for my son to sell 40 years from now to help finance his retirement.
I paid that for just the liners, pistons, gaskets and installation for the liners in 1975 dollars. Probably $1000 or more in today's money .

Wait, what? they are selling an 880 kit?
I think I must of saw it wrong looking at the site on my phone. What they sell is the base gasket for a 860 kit.
My bad.
But a 87mm bore. Wow. That's 3mm larger than my 2 liter Alfa engine liners

Thanks for letting us know about the muffler quantity , data entry girl error.
Will get it fixed asap , we really do have hundreds. Note: We never show all of
what we have. 860 kits are made by Heiden - we had some big block cylinders
made without the dowel pin holes so larger liners could be installed. I think
Jerry Heiden still has some in stock.

Did i tel you how i got my Nickname, i use it for my Handle............Real names Doug........As a play on words, he up to a bit of Skullduggery.........hence the nickname Skull..............Maybe i did sometimes, lol

I get the loose money on one product to get their attention and cash in on the browsers while you have their attention. Good way to start a business. Calling it YamahaXS650.com sits nicely on this, the world premier XS650 site, XS650.com.

You know you seem to be pretty thick with Mike L , Know him very well, your selling all his products, using all the same pics and part no's and except for the name on the shop it could be anyone of MikesXS, Heiden Tuning, GeofsXS or 650 Direct............Prices are better, so cheap in fact, one has to think that the suppliers, (retail), have been ripping off the XS650 community for years, so when you do start selling overseas your going to be in direct competition with.....Heiden tuning, GeofsXS, and 650 direct.........Hang on, wont that be killing the goose that laid the golden egg..........

So maybe revisit how i got my nickname and ill ask the question again.........will you ever be selling overseas..........

Mike set up Geoffs and supplied product to everyone. We will see if the old wholesalers
still want to do business except for a few who went behind his back and tried to make
deals while not taking large inventories from Mike that they had ordered from him.
It's surprising how much some people will bend their ethics for a buck. We have been open
for 2 days so we don't want to overload ourselves right off the bat. All the foreign distributors
only added up to less than 20 % of Mikes biz and were there only to bring up the volume and in some
cases because the buyers in some countries were a pain in the ass. So we will see. Joe.

When a business is sold the po cant start up again around the corner or whatever is agreed in the terms of the contract. That's why 650 direct couldn't sell to most other parts of the world as a retailer. Europe had Heiden tuning and Canada had 650 Direct. us poor folks down under had to buy from MikesXS. MikesXs was also restricted from being able to sell into areas where there was already a franchise, Canada at least and maybe some parts of Europe, (not 100% on the Europe and details), Heiden was to expensive compared to the original MikesXS but after MikesXS sale and the price rocketed up Heiden became a viable option. Original MikesXS, Mike L, still operated the wholesale manufacturing part of the bussiness supplying all of these retail outlets

When GeofsXS opened in Aus, MikesXS tried to get them shut down under the terms of the sale to the original MikesXS owner, but there must have been a loophole in the terms of the agreement and GeofXS survived so we downunder had out own supplier and didn't need the US MikesXS.

A few weeks ago i saw on MikesXS US, that they were selling into canada so looked on 650Direct and they were advertising into the US and the rest of the world. Can only assume the terms of the original sale conract had timed out and boarders open and free for all...........Now we have yamaha650.com, with all the same wholesale parts all the other retailers are selling...........are retailing only to the US.

Yes Sumo is great........ HVcycle, EconomyCycle and Speed & sports in the US, sell the same rubber product

I know mikesxs, dime city cycles, z1 enterprises, and randakks cycle shack are owned by the same people. So there is a lot if overlap in parts on the sites.

I did order a 750 kit, at the price it seemed a decent idea to get it as a spare. Ordered yesterday, got the shipping notice today, so hopefully in a few days I'll have it and post some pics.
