650 Skull : Ran by Mike what you said about the community being ripped off for years.
He says: First run of Koyo crank bearings totaled out at $85,000.00 US, first run of handlebar
switches totaled $150,000.00 ! Do you make your profit on the last piece or the first ?
The only big ripoff in the industry has been Yamaha themselves.
It takes nerve to pay for a production run when you never have sold them before !
In Ausi Geoff selectively/carefully got in as he had a small inheritance and reluctantly
went for it. Mike did not need to set him up but said the Au riders were great guys and
could use a nearby supplier. Mike had a separate au site at one time and sent to Au at
reduced prices so as to offset the cost of the long distance - Why ? because he could !
Skull; making a reasonable profit is NOT ripping people off.
Among business folks the rule is that selling at a price too low to pay;
your vendors on time
your employees a decent living wage with benefits
yourself enough to live AND retire on
while still having enough to invest in, grow, the business.
IS a crime.
He's rich cuz a LOT of people voluntarily hand him their money nearly always because they feel he offers them the best overall deal.Ask Jeff Bozo.....2nd richest man in the world..........or ask his workers and you will get 2 different answers to that question
And, no of course not........when have i ever said that........I said that a monopoly can charge as much as they can get away with.....Am i allowed to say they are ripping people of when they sell something for $165, when, with competition, they now sell it for $100 and Yamaha650.com is selling the same product for $88........I have posted, and through that post MikesXS, (after Mike L sold it) has changed their advertising from a 50% sale price on their tanks to the true value of a 30% sale price when they were using a slight of hand, (yea ripping people off), to justify that 50%.............
It's possible there's a relationship tween that and your limited choices. Also take into account Aussie consumer laws compared to the US's and the definition and/of legal differences also equate to different attitudes.
For various reasons goods get sold at less than decent profit levels.
Getting the word out
a Cash crunch
Excess or discontinued merchandise.
end of season pricing to reduce the expense of carring items that won't sell til the next season.
Closing a business, or line of business.
That doesn't make a different vendor's ongoing business pricing a rip off.
Some customers are willing to pay more than others for better service, a nicer store, "Brand name" cachet
A business that caters to those customers is not ripping anyone off.
Certainly NOT me!How many on here love the free post and cheap prices from china....
