Big Bore Big Block Kit i just found on a new source!

Note To All 650 & All old bike owners : If you don't have body work then you don't have anything !
A good tank and seat makes the bike worth spending money to repair the rest.
Owning a saws all and welder does not make you orange county choppers Joe

Dont you mean

Note To only the 650 & All old bike owners in the Continental US: If you don't have body work then you don't have anything !

Now don't pout so much. Someday we may ship outside the continental USA or maybe
only to Geoffs. We have been doing this for about 12 days and are still sorting things out.

Lol Pouting.......I have my big bore kit.........cost me $400 Australian, Landed at my door..........Got it from Mikes XS when he offered them on special as an Introductory........way back

AlI i read is Someday, may, maybe........And as this is a world wide site i just made your statement relevant...........thought it might help you from having to answer a lot of questions about shipping to......... Europe, Asia, Oceania, South America.........i know your real busy boxing up all the BBK and such. Sold 24 in 12 days, MikesXS must be spewing..........

sorry but what is so hard to ship o/seas to internal shipping .. you said only 20% of your biz is international ...good biz practice , ignore 20% of your clientel to fav the other 80% for no real good reason ..sorry bud , if and when your up and running as you put it, might find other sellers as you just sound like a different version of mikes .. great way to start a biz .. and this is not pouting but saying it as it is ... isnt discrimintary biz practise against the law .. most countries it is

Sadly some countries have made it tough to import goods. Once a month for 14 years I had to ship a periodical we printed for a special interest group. Generally somewhere in the neighborhood of 1500 copies were mailed to individuals and the 20-30 boxes of 50 to different board members. On of these boxes were sent to a high ranking member in Canada. That one box required a 2 page multipart custom declaration that was a total pain in the ass to fill out and cost more that the 1500 copies sent to individual members in the States.
To expect a company that has been in existence for two weeks to be fully up to speed on export laws for hundreds of countries is a little over the top.
At this point getting the proper number of rings in the BBK is challenge enough. Traderjoe hasn't said he has no intention of shipping overseas just he isn't prepared for it yet.

:umm:
Didja hear him say he's been open 12 DAYS LOL he's already found some order filling issues (since corrected) How would you feel if some parts arrived wrong and a reship was months away?
Toyota sold the Prius in Japan only for the first year. Cuz they wanted to iron out any problems locally.
Seems like youse guys should be all over Geoffs :cautious: about pricing and availability..... stead of beating up on us poor Yanks.
If I were a vendor I'd consider the attitude of consumer segments before deciding to do business with them.

I get the loose money on one product to get their attention and cash in on the browsers while you have their attention. Good way to start a business. Calling it YamahaXS650.com sits nicely on this, the world premier XS650 site, XS650.com.
You know you seem to be pretty thick with Mike L , Know him very well, your selling all his products, using all the same pics and part no's and except for the name on the shop it could be anyone of MikesXS, Heiden Tuning, GeofsXS or 650 Direct.........
...Prices are better, so cheap in fact, one has to think that the suppliers, (retail), have been ripping off the XS650 community for years, so when you do start selling overseas your going to be in direct competition with.....Heiden tuning, GeofsXS, and 650 direct.........Hang on, wont that be killing the goose that laid the golden egg..........

Retail.= MikesXS, Heiden, GeofsXS......These were the only ones we could by from.

650 Skull : Ran by Mike what you said about the community being ripped off for years.
He says: First run of Koyo crank bearings totaled out at $85,000.00 US, first run of handlebar
switches totaled $150,000.00 ! Do you make your profit on the last piece or the first ?
The only big ripoff in the industry has been Yamaha themselves.
It takes nerve to pay for a production run when you never have sold them before !
In Ausi Geoff selectively/carefully got in as he had a small inheritance and reluctantly
went for it. Mike did not need to set him up but said the Au riders were great guys and
could use a nearby supplier. Mike had a separate au site at one time and sent to Au at
reduced prices so as to offset the cost of the long distance - Why ? because he could !

Take me out of context and it does sound like i am accusing Mike L, of ripping people off.........never accused hm, it is based on your prices compared to other retailers (RETAILERS... Not wholesalers), who stock the exact same product that comes from the same supplier.
A part MikesXS sells for $100, 650Direct sells for $88 and your price is $79.......This part i just quoted i bought for $65.00 off the original, Mikes XS over 11 years ago..... After Mikes was sold it blew out to $165.00 before other people decided to compete with a similar product......you are now selling something i bought for $65 over 11 years ago, for $79 now......Either you are loosing money or not. if not then the other retailers are making a good profit and some are at over 20% more than your prices...today so when they were selling that same thing for $165, am i justified in saying the 650 community has been ripped off........If you are making a profit then that is, more than, 20% mark up over your price.............could it then b said the 650 community has been ripped off.........a monopoly can charge what they can get away with........now the monopoly is up against 650Direct and Yamaha650.com.

When Mike L owned MikesXS he had the separate Aussie site. Buying off that Aussie site, they had set it up so it showed Aussie $ prices so we, down here, knew how much it would cost us without having to calculate through an exchange. That dd make it easier for us. When Mike L sold the business that was disbanded.........11 years ago or there about.....

I guess if one reads what they want.......

Good luck on the venture, if you keep prices competitive you will do well.

As an overseas buyer one of the biggest let down is when free postage is offered to locals and that postage cost isn't taken into account when postage costs for overseas customers is applied.........Not asking, or expect, for free postage to b applied to overseas sales.................What i mean is if it costs on average to post internally, (48 states), say $25.00, or what ever an average is, why not apply that average cost, (as it is already built into your prices), reduction to your overseas customers postage rates as well..........

EDIT, I should ask........Do you or would would your business entertain the idea to incorporate the free local postage into reducing the Overseas cost of postage

OK, so you're saying the Commando mufflers you have are the old original design with the baffle plug bolt?
Ordered and received 2 of these Commando mufflers.
https://yamahaxs650.com/product/commando-style-megaphone-muffler/
Each came with a Allen bolt.
So are these the "good Commandos"?
Going to be awhile before I hear what they sound like.

Hard to see in the pic. There's a nut welded in there for the bolt.

Looks like a heavy duty clamp.

The bike they are going on needs some assembly.

From what others have said here, yes those look like the old style "good commando's." Maybe @5twins will chime in here.
Hey Joe ( @650trader ), the 5th gear overdrive is out of stock. Are you guys planning on restocking it? Any idea on a time frame?

Yes, those look like the good ones. Guess I should order up a pair, lol. On my originals, I tried them both ways, with and without the bolt. Overall, there's not much sound volume difference, but I think they sound better (not as "raspy") with the bolt in there. This is great news because this is about the best 650 muffler I've run across. Looks good, sounds great, and performs well.
