Big Bore Big Block Kit i just found on a new source!

Yes, it plugs a hole. Like I said, overall loudness isn't effected much, it just "smooths" out the sound a little, takes the ragged, sharp edges off it. I really think they sound better with the bolt in there. Allen bolt installed .....

I'm happy to see the tapped bars that slide inside the sliding track are included as well. Hanging these off one bolt head doesn't last long on our (vibrating) 650's, lol.

As an overseas buyer one of the biggest let down is when free postage is offered to locals and that postage cost isn't taken into account when postage costs for overseas customers is applied.........Not asking, or expect, for free postage to b applied to overseas sales.................What i mean is if it costs on average to post internally, (48 states), say $25.00, or what ever an average is, why not apply that average cost, (as it is already built into your prices), reduction to your overseas customers postage rates as well..........

EDIT, I should ask........Do you or would would your business entertain the idea to incorporate the free local postage into reducing the Overseas cost of postage

I totally understand your logic and frustration on the shipping charges. I also see it from time to time in my slice of the world. When I order from Europe or a few times from down under I've paid through the nose for shipping. I know from experience that shipping stuff outside of the country takes more time. The time for me is not a big deal. For a company they have to pay somebody to do it.
Living in paradise does have a cost.

Part # on Muffler was put there for Euro approval and indicates that these mufflers
are the original dyno Tuned Heiden/Lalonde Commando mufflers.
Plug for the end is for Tuning although it changes the sound a bit. Usually the plug is left out but we suggest you try
both ways and decide yourself. Joe

I might add the last time I ordered from the UK shipping was $150 USD. Would have been much less if not for sending to US.
Reminds me of a old song " rub your neck and write them a check". You want it they got it. I have to admit I got the stuff in 3 days. 50 a day is pretty steep. Could have waited longer but no choices on shipping.

Ordered and received 2 of these Commando mufflers.

Each came with a Allen bolt.
So are these the "good Commandos"?
Going to be awhile before I hear what they sound like.

Hard to see in the pic. There's a nut welded in there for the bolt.View attachment 185064
Looks like a heavy duty clamp.

Will these fit a 73 TX650?

The set I bought is going on a 72 XS2 frame. I'm not sure what it will entail to get the hangers right. I am sure it can be done.
If you want a straight one for one bolt on muffler you may want to think about the reproduction original style.

Thanks for leading the charge @GLJ. I just bought a set of those Commandos myself along with the 1.5" chrome headers. I'll hope to be getting them on my bike in the next few weeks. Edit: My bike is a 74 TX650A, FYI

I had assumed with that integrated hanger bracket that they could be made to be able to attach to the stock brackets, but I also assumed I'd just have to get them in my hands and see what I'm dealing with. Any advice (@5twins?) on mounting would be welcomed.

How's that workin' out for ya? :sneaky:
I'm trying to resist. I have a Wiseco 810 kit standing by for the GPz, A leaking front caliper on the KZ400 (parts are NOLA), my H1 has a serious bog, the cop bike needs miles, the 426 has not been started since 2018, the Triumph won't go into 1st or reverse, The Mustang barely runs, I'm building an AR...
Funds and time are short... Must resist!

And if you wanna stop that BBK

https://yamahaxs650.com/product/high-performance-disc-brake-rotors/

over $50 cheaper than the other guy.

I am gonna be running dual disc on my current project and man the original rotor are HEAVY. A lot of extra weight upfront when you got two of those bad boys spinnin around.

I’ve drilled a few sets of rotors in the past when I had access to a mill - I no longer do. Just a small drill press - I did one a few months ago on and and what a PAIN.

decided to save myself the headache and weight.

I saw those rotors and was very intrigued since I've got rotor drilling on my to-do list this winter. From what I've read elsewhere it seems like most of the aftermarket stuff and/or later model Yamaha rotors can be made to work on 35mm forks but us 34mm chumps are SOL. Am I misunderstanding that, or does that about sum it up?

(FWIW - I have seen how this topic usually converges to someone going "just get 35mm forks"...I'll ask if we can at least try to entertain the idea of 34mm fork mods for as long as we can, haha)

Later model yammy rotors weigh 1/2, bolt on with a spacer, can be found dirt cheap.
:bike:

about 30-40 bucks a piece shipped.

then you still gotta drill em - or run a slotted one.

depending on your set up drilling could take 3-4 hours to do. Or send em out - 65 plus shipping both ways - or local shop I’m sure at least 65 bucks.

And track down spacers/ make em.

$100 seems like a good deal to me. Either way. I’m gonna run em.
