New to the site but I've been building and racing XS's for a few years now. I'm working on a slipper clutch setup and potentially running a 9 plate Alto stack if anyone has them still for sale. I've also been searching far and wide for a billet basket but Heiden and Twins-inn don't sell them anymore.

Talk to Rick Forte of Smedspeed, he’s in talks with Talon over a billet clutch basket, I have my name down.

Daniel.

Clutch plates received today. Thanks Gary. May be springtime before they get installed. Got a new Motion Pro clutch cable. Will probably get new springs although the ones in there now only have less than 1000 miles on them.

Talked to Alto today they have "our" plates in stock, but in Europe. I tossed out a number, 200 plates or about 25 clutch conversions. This would resurrect the old ippytattoo 8 plate conversion. I talked to ippy about this before and he said go for it, he wouldn't jump through the hoops again. I put one in Madness and could not be happier. You need the 8 new (thinner) friction plates and one extra stock steel plate assuming your existing steels are good. I can prolly do about 15 sets from plates I have here, you can also order them new from Yamaha and maybe I can round some more up from flea bay or member stashes.
So round numbers about $80 to your door for 8 friction plates. please put your 2 cents in the poll and feel free to reply, good, bad, or MEH.
I think ippy installed or sold about 12 sets, he did sell out of what he.
I have not done it but Ippytattoo had done turned some later (80 up?) hubs to remove the "half plate shelf" and steel spring to make the 8 plate conversion. That might be something I could offer also.
Here's ippy's previous thread. http://www.xs650.com/threads/alto-8-pack-clutch-kits.33399/#post-338934
These plates are not a big seller for Alto, they only had 7 plates total in the US, and no plans for a production run. They also fit some other Yamaha's and Suzuki GS1000's
I’ll take one, will this be available through your website as I need a bunch of other stuff XR’s and xt

2 more sets shipped.
I'm down to 5 sets and out of steels (for now) What do y'all think, should I reorder alto plates? Last order, a year ago was 25 sets.
