For Sale - Big bore kits $350???

Found out YamahaXS650.com does not have a replacement cylinder. I guess they are all out for drilling the stud holes.

If you don't want the bit grabbing and pulling up the cylinder block, narrow your cutting angle on the bit, i.e., make it pointier. This will make the cutting edge act less like a drive screw. This also works on thin materials.

I never payed much attention but yamahaxs650.com picture shows the cylinder black. Has anyone received a black one?

FYI.....won't assume everyone has seen my build thread, but I just documented receipt, install and start-up of one of these yamaha650.com BBK kits in my -74 TXA.

I also purchased the headers and Commandos from them. Have to say, I've ordered 4 or 5 times now and despite some of the drama folks here have had with Joe/650trader, they've been great. 750BBK issue aside, they're definitely my go-to now.

I would say there's a good to excellent chance some will be on the market again in the next few months with the stud holes reamed out but seriously doubt it will be at a price close to $350.

The later engines are the 447 engine. I think 74 to 84.
Bowling from your experience are the early engines and parts alot more expensive than the later ones? I'm just looking around at the classified sections and it appears they are..maybe
