Hello everybone i have a 1980 special. I am trying to diagnose a problem with my right rear blinker light. Is there a trick to accessing the bulb itself? I am worried if i slip out the rubber i will never be able to get it back inside. Any help is much appreciated. I have attached some photos of the style of blinker in question.

I see the light is not attached too te bike. Are the wires unhooked? If so just use some jumper wires to hook straight to the batteery. If the bulb lights then you know it's ok.
From looking at your pics the bulb may pull straight out of the socket instead of the push in and turn. I might try wiggling the bulb a bit to see just what happens.
Often the ground is the issue. The stock lights have one hot wire and ground through the mount bolt. There is a wire with a loop that goes under the mount nut and plugs into the harness. Yours being after market may be different.
Pics of the wires coming out may help.
