Anyone here ever owned one of these two stroke triples? Just about caught up on things I wanted to do on the XS and there’s an opportunity here for me to pick one of these up as a restoration project. Any thoughts?

Like it's little brother, the 500 Titan, it was a gentleman's 2 stroke. Never owned either, but had friends that did so I rode both of 'em. I liked 'em. I was into RD350's and Kawasaki triples at the time. The RD's and H1's.... H2's were hooligans... the Suzuki's were more tame.... more gentlemanly, but just as enjoyable. I'd gab one in a heartbeat given the chance.

Now that I think of it, I prolly owned a 500 for a time.... but drugs were cheap back in those days. ... :sneaky:

The WaterBuffalo/ kettle was the only old Suzuki I ever took a hard look at. The early ones are a thing of beauty.

My buddy’s dad had two and enjoyed them. One even made the trip to Alaska (and back)!

Crank seals apparently are a real pain to replace and usually need to be done if the machine has been sitting for any length of time.

Have a look on the 2 stroke forums. They can be very difficult to free up if the pistons are seized ( no personal experience just from reading build threads). Tuning specs readily available on the net and there is one UK based company making all sorts of go fast goodies.
The 750 triple is a good platform to make a post classic sidecar.

I share a large tri-level basement with 5 oth Basement Chip 1.jpg Basement Chip 2.jpg Basement 2.jpg Sercret garage lift.jpg er fellows.. we each got a work station and storage for our bikes. Machine shop tools... vapor cabinet ... etc etc... One of the guys is a major Suzuki guru. Does Tea Kettles.... Titans, 380's... he'll split the case and starts from there. When he's done.. they never looked that good from the factory. Absolute jewels. He does most of them for DEEP pocket clients.

Hi bosco659,
I’ve owned and restored 4 GT750’s three very early 1972 “J” models and a 1973 “K” model. They are a great bike to own and ride and for a two stroke the torque is very impressive if tuned correctly with the right pipes.

You’ll not be disappointed but they can be a little expensive to restore and repair and original OEM parts are getting hard to find!

Regards.

Went to see the bike and it needed a bit too much TLC for me. I’ll keep looking! Thx
