Add another to the collection...

Got a 16mm MPP cap for the petcock spigot and filled the tank with vinegar to try and neutralize some of the corrosion.

Dig those!

I wonder if signals had to be a standard(or minimum) length out from the bike. Every 70s bike seems to sit at relatively the same distance. So much cleaner pulled in like you did.

If I were riding it they would get removed all together, Id prefer the wife had them. I think it looks much better tucked in like this. Not sure what I'm going to do on the back yet though.

Over here they have to be around 9" from the center of the bike...........

I can Se a big mistake there in the lower picture Apologize if this is off topic
That is in the background --- appears to be a 1963 something Corvette Stingray Convertible
I am no expert on USA cars and those are rare where I live.
If any exists in this country at all.
But a quick googling gives $ 69 000
behind a perhaps $ 6900 Motorcycle
Quite many has no clue afterward about any motorcycle.
The same mistake some do when there is a pretty young woman in the Swim Suit on the hood of cars Flashing smiles
at Shows
Afterwards the Boys
What car ? as here What motorcycle ??
90 % 95 % of people outside that garage would be circling the far side of the driveway asking if the hood could be opened .
Engine started before looking on any Motorcycle
AS well as more ladies at the far side.

On my current cb build I ran a head light with built in flashers and recessed the rears into the bubble seat. Flashers all work great, actual head light is terrible! - if the bike is pre 73 I drop the signals. - still can’t bring myself to mount a mirror haha. Never been on a bike you could see anything in em anyways.

maybe check out something like these.

For safety I would prefer the front indicators be as visible as possible. I usually leave those alone. The rear ones I tuck in because they can end up getting in the way when you are walking around them. The fronts are protected by the bars.

After rebuilding the carbs, replacing the intakes, replacing the slides/diaphragms, setting the valves, replacing points and condensers, new battery, cleaning the tank, lubing all the cables, repacking the wheel bearings, changing the oil, replacing the headlight bucket, syncing the carbs, replacing the regufier/rectalator with a combo unit, blah blah blah. It lives. Rode it around the block a few times, seemed under powered, until I put her on the back and it barely phased the bike. I was actual impressed how well this little 360 preformed with two people on it. Still need to put the new tires on it, rebuild the forks, lower the front end to match the back (1.5"), and put on the new brake shoes front and back.

Hi WideAWAKE,
all you really need to be able to see in the mirror is red & blue flashing lights. And tailgating semis.

Well after getting this thing running I discovered that I had not gotten the fuel tank as clean as I had thought. It was really dirty, I did 3 vinegar soaks of 48hr each and rinsed with water after the third. It's a pretty sizable tank with a tiny filler neck so its hard to see into the back of the tank. It immediately fouled the petcock pickup screen. So back off it came, this time I filled it with acetone and let it sit for 3 days. This seemed to knock a LOT of shit loose, mostly varnished gas that the vinegar had not touched. Once all the varnished gas had been removed by the acetone there was more rust underneath. So back to another round of vinegar. This seemed to do the trick, I hosed it out with my garden hose on high pressure and knocked the rest of the loose crud out. I chased the water with 4 gas rinses and dumped a little Marvel Mystery Oil in it to give it an oil coating then filled it with gas. It seems to be clean now. I'm going to shake it down this weekend then put the new tires and brakes on. After that its all hers.
