Hey guys, I just bought hughs cdi and PMA kit. I was looking at his download for the wiring but I’m still alittle confused. I am not sure where my points, my starter, or the ground wire on my motor would connect to. I would really appreciate the help! I just want basic kick start only. I viewed a couple threads about this on the forum and did not see where they listed these things in the diagrams.

Your starter is connected to the battery +12 through a starter solenoid. Activation of the solenoid depends on the type of starter switch you will be using.

If your going kick only you can remove the starter and the solenoid, this would rid you of one of those connections.

A battery and electric start is VERY useful when tuning and otherwise bringing a project motor to life.

It is, I was able to start mine kick only. The battery I bought didnt have enough oomph to turn it over 3-4 times. I never thought to just hook up a car battery. Needless to say, it took a hundred or so kicks (not sure the numbers but it felt like it) until it would pick up and run. Luckily for me, I was able to "kick" it by hand faster than I could by foot.
