What have you done to your XS today?

Sumo Rubber.
At least these guys had the class to open an account here on the forum and introduce themselves.
Plus.... they specialize in rubber. Better quality perhaps?

I used repops on the build and they have worked well. Even had them on and off a couple of times. The Yamaha oems are $24 buck EACH at Mikes and he only had 3. I'm not paying that. I'll drag my feet first!

On a different note:
What about those Dunlop K70 Gold Seals?
For a stock bike, I like the look. I've never had it slide out from under me so, handling is ok. Rear tire seems to wear fast! Can't compare it to the CB750. Different tires and different animal. I don't have anything newer plastic with a motor in it, so...

Front tire left: Rear tire right: I ride like going to the store and church on Sunday. Bikes never seen the high side of 75 mph. The tires have 2,401.9 miles on them. Back tire is about half way gone. Front tire looks like it will hang in there for 2 or 3 rear ones. I run my pressure a few pounds below stated 36 lbs cold. Made in Indonesia and looks like I run the rear one overinflated, but no. This is one of the times your mileage really will vary.
When the front one gives up, I'll probably go with the D404's.

I have these. I have 2000 miles on them. No complaint yet.
Hi Marty,
Note that a sidecar rig's rear tire tends to wear out real quick.
My XS650/SofA sidecar rig's rear tire of choice used to be a "TwinTire" (a 5"-16 car tire that ran in pairs on a specialized dual rim.)
One of them would last about 8,000 miles vs the original Yokohama's 6,000.
When the TwinTire supply dried up the rig's rear tire became a series of made in the Far East El Cheapos each of which lasted mebbe 4,000 miles.

Well I'll be! I have to say, Somebody else did it and I followed their lead. When I tore the carbs down each part went into a baggie. Right and left, were cleaned, rebuilt and separately then reassembled. I didn't see anything about it in the book but... Who would have thunk it? I got to get a look at this.

Well I'll be damn! A Murphy!
Thanks 5T

I’m running those same tires on my XS2, and yeah the rear wears fast, but I love the look of them and cant complain about the handling. I’m running modern tires on my ‘77 , but I’ll probably keep the K70’s on my XS2.

Nice, but I'll see your Harley and raise you one 2005 Triumph Speedmaster Low mileage, 865cc, not a scratch on it, except for the smiling wart. He don't know nothing about motor sickles. Just wanted to sit on it.

Asking 3K. How could I not? I've seen Mopads go for that!

Had Labrinthitus for a couple of days so couldn't ride. Decided to finally sort out the Virago instrument panel. The original was burnt out in a fire so out with some scrap sheet metal from a photocopier, hammers, drills, lathe and a MIG:

I added the curves to blend with the Tacho and Speedo and fitted big bright blue/white LED turn indicator bulbs so I don't forget to cancel the indicators - Recently had a near miss due to uncancelled indicators. Trusted Voltmeter - Best add-on for old bikes!
