That's cool. If he has that hooked up to a "DishTV" or "DirectTV" receiver, he must be able to get, what, like, a bazillion channels?!!! Especially if he points it at different satellites.... :umm:

You used to be able to hack
Some time back I saw a sign in front of satellite dish/receiver store that said "the only thing you can't unscramble is eggs". I don't think that's the case anymore but the last time I looked, there was still a lot of free-to-air TV broadcasts out there and on top of that, many available satellites not of the USA. There may still be network feeds, NASA transmissions, who knows what else. Today's technology has eliminated the need for the larger dish but there certainly isn't anything wrong with it. I've been told that satellite internet is the pits.

I’m here to tell you, as bad as you think it might be, it’s worse than that I promise. Since I live out in the boonies, that’s all there is. Elon Musk is my hero. I’m now on the Starlink beta test. It’s just like internet coming in on a copper wire. When Comcast finally shows up I’ll have the option of telling them to stuff it!
