2021 Barber Vintage Fest

Been goin' to Barber since '08. This year the swap meet yielded nothing, fan zone was meh but the paddock is always interesting and the view of the track from the 3rd level of the building is outstanding. There were (3) nice XS650's in the VJMC area.View attachment 199707 View attachment 199708 View attachment 199709 View attachment 199710 View attachment 199711
You’re right. I hope it’s a covid thing. Many of the commercial entities did not show up. Some of the missing included Ace Corner, Motorcycle Classics Magazine, Dime City, Biltwell….. The Fan Zone was half and the swap meet areas were full of voids. What was in the swap meet was over priced. 2019 had 85,000 visitors. I hope it comes back.

Unfortunately, I was in the roll mode so not much photographic evidence. I rode my 650 to the event. I put another 600 miles on it. The weather was perfect. Great fun!

Wow. What was the attendance this year?

The international motorcycle show used to come to Phoenix every year and set up at the Cardinals football arena.
I think I spent more time walking around the parking lot looking at the 10,000 motorcycles parked out there! There was an unbelievable variety of machines out there!

Typically, finding a place to park a motorcycle at the Barber event is a huge chore, even after they eliminated the four wheeled vehicles. I use my VJMC membership for parking privilege. This time, I could almost park anywhere.

Hopefully I will be able to stay the weekend next year and once again be totally immersed in motorcycle goodness!
Fortunately for me, I have a close friend who lives 20 miles from the park. The ride is the same distance as it was when I lived in North Georgia. It's just a matter of new sights on the ride.

These piles belong to Robin. Robin is my bride. They’ve been there for more months than I can remember. I believe she’s giving me license to store motorcycle parts in our bedroom or any room for that matter. Not that I play those games, but when the garage gets full…

Yes Marty, I mentioned to my wife that perhaps a culling of clothes not worn for ages might be a good thing. Well blow me, half of my 2 door wardrobe went to the charity shop! She bought an expensive clothes vacuum storage machine and vacuum covers. Spent a day recovering the clothes and vac-packing them. Reduced the clothes space by 30%, to make Room for more! Duh.....:banghead:

Wives are weird. They don't seem to understand the importance of keeping important things like motorcycles, motorcycle parts, guitars, amps, speaker cabinets, motorcycle magazines that were printed the same year as our bikes. Since when did it become necessary to have 87 pairs of shoes and clothes that still have tags on them from the original purchase four years ago?? :laugh2:
