Ol' Sol and the big picture

I'm 69 but in me head I was 23 for a looong time. Before 23 I was 10. Better to be 23, you can drink legally.
Being 69 and current counting is good for the IDGAF attitude over things I used to GAF about.....lol.....still, do no harm.

Could mass hunting/killing of whales led to increase in CO2? There's some science to it.

Removing CO2 producers resulting in increased CO2.... sounds convoluted. I'm sure that in these times it can be proven that it did AND that it didn't. The elephant in the room that many ignore is uncontrollable Ol' Sol, ignored because he's a benevolent constant? There everyday like clockwork, taken for granted......never changing to the naked human eye and beyond petition to cease and desist anything that might be detrimental to "our world". Easier to blame each other......

A long time ago I figured out how loud Ol' Sol would be if the distance between there and Earth had air. Then I found a table of loudnessess by dB and it was on the order of your ear next to a jack hammer

Musing today on our existence and it being linked always with Ol' Sol, his influence on our bodies from the get go .....and then how we would fair in a different solar system IF we could get to one, after all we are inexorably linked to this earth and this sun, created for this environment. The possibility of us being stuck here to be able to live at all might be our reality.
Send a round trip monkey to Alpha Centauri.

Here's a super entertaining video about what happens if you're determined to leave Ol' Sol. At the beginning is the usual time dilation stuff, but the end is the good part. Non-gravitationally bound space can expand faster than light and is accelerating and eventually you reach a point of no return, where your ship can never catch up with Sol if you turn around and head back, then eventually there has been so much expansion that you're the only detectable atoms. Very unlike science fiction space travel. Worth watching.

Here is a 3 1/2 hr conversation between two remarkable thinkers, for your New Year's nothing to do really enjoyment.

In the original spirit of the thread, here's a UFO. Latest Spacex launch, seems to go from middle of screen to out of view at top, accelerating. Not saying it's aliens but it does remind me of the kind of space thing astronaut Story Musgrave might suggest is alive...

It happens several times in this sequence actually, maybe three times, but this is the most prominent one. Go to 55:18 if it doesn't go automatically, and look at the left window.
