Anyone suggest a source for correct period electrical connectors for the various year models.
I did a cursory search on google and found 4-5 various possible sites listed which I haven't had opportunity to wade through the various ones by brand and year. Curious if someone can suggest source for specific '73 Yamaha stuff.
Thanks

I ordered a couple kits from this place, Vintage Connections. I got one for bullet connectors, one for multi-terminal blocks, and their crimping tool .....

I also re-use lots of connector blocks I "liberate" from old harnesses. In fact, that's my first "go to". If I can't find a suitable used connector in my stash, then I'll use a new one.

My bikes are '78 and newer but I don't think there's much difference in the connectors. Maybe many of the newer ones are latching types whereas the older ones may not be. The multi-connector blocks fit so tightly together, I really don't see the need for the latches.

These are not period correct but I use these on my harness builds and some do match up to stock connectors . Way less money you guys are spending and they work well. If you are going to change one side why not both? They also come in other sizes.

Thanks, actually that's an option that just may work for my build as I'll mainly be using them for accessory hook ups to the existing harness as I no longer have the original lamp assemblies.
Since there are no longer any Radio Shacks around.
You have a source?

EBay, there's tons of that stuff on there. I bought some to supplement my kits but the quality definitely isn't as good as the kits. But, if it's something you won't be plugging and unplugging often, they work fine. In particular, I got female spades that included the soft plastic insulation covers. Those hard plastic insulators that come on many crimps just plain suck. I won't even use them, I cut them off .....

Those won't lock into a plastic block, but used as a single connection, good deal with those plastic covers.

Measure the size of your bullets and blades before ordering.;)
I'm seeing 3.5 and 3.9/4mm bullet connectors on the vintage connectors website
On the 650's are they the 3.9/4mm I just want to get the correct ones
Thanks

Yes, they are the 3.9/4mm ones. I never encountered the 3.5mm ones until I acquired some aftermarket alloy turn signals. When I went to plug them in, their male bullets basically just fell in and out of the 4mm female connectors on the bike, lol. Just glancing at them, you really don't see much of a difference.
