I had an old rusty front fender with its support braces, etc. I sort of have a mild cafe thing going on with my bike and wanted some stability up front without the huge front fender. I took the tubular supports from the old fender and welded a couple flat pieces of steel to make a mini fork brace. I cut the fender down and used the four pre-threaded holes on the front part. To attach the rear I just drilled two holes and used short bolts. I will eventually beadblast the chrome and paint the thing to match, but I am very happy with how the front end handles (but I am not racing the bike or anything). Here are some pics-

Thanks- I always like to spend 0$ when I can. You can come up with some pretty creative things when you a are a cheap ass.

Awesome, clean simple, I like your bike all around. Also the fender works good in those areas where you have to have a front fender.

Nice lookin' ride you got there Johnnymac

Thanks for all the kind words- I put a lot of work into this bike and it's starting to show. It sat uncovered for 18 years in some guys yard. I asked him how much and he said I could have the rusty piece of junk- That was then- this is now :)

Just a quick update- I've put about 50 miles on the bike since making this little fork brace and noticed I can now take both my hands off the bars while riding (about 35-40mph with no wobbling. Before the mod, I could coast for a short distance with no hands but would soon have to grab the bars to stabalize the front end.
