what a cock up

I like the look of a Suzuki GT 380 fuel tank on my bike. I found one in far better condition than my original one and it fitted really well after a new basic modifications.......until after doing the mods I fitted the fuel cock and then fitted the tank!
The tank now doesn't fit as the fuel cock isn't too happy with the position of the back of the engine- what an over site on my behalf!!

I don't suppose any one else has done this and found a way round this?
