Zach got you PM To be honest mate I would be wary of saying anything that I have done wireing wise until I have ridden the bike for a few weeks with out having to call the fire brigade :yikes:  :bike:... When all is running and working as it should I will post everything up..

For the record the first few months im going to be running this with a "day time MOT" Hence no need for working lights for it to be road legal.. I want to make sure the engine is good before spending any more time on it...

Still looking for a "cheap" seat something like this to come up forsale

sounds good, good luck finding the seat. are you planing on lowering the rear of the frame or just cutting right near the shocks?

Just going to cut down near the shocks!!!

I "may" do a proper bobber conversion next year if the engine is decent, as I really dont want to spend cash on doing a full rebuild at the moment if needed and defo dont want the situation of cutting up and welding the frame to then find the engine is poo...

Im sure a seat will come up soon, again just want a cheap brown leather seat really nothing special :wink2:
I was going to put a Flattrack seat on but ive kinda gone off that idea after seeing a cut down XS a few months ago...

Looking good ! have you re jetted the carbs ? I used to run 140 main but i think that was prob a bit rich I would try 137.5 and pos stick a washer under the needle , see how you get on , if it pops on over run its lean , black art that really needs doing on a dyno , i spent ages trying out diferent jets before i got it in the ball park , rather it rich than lean !

awesome thread, triniriderz, you are a dude, good work mate, start with a wreck, finish with a rat worth owning, look forward to seeing it finished, how long have you been working on it, cos it seems to be a quick turnaround to get it to where it is now.

I have always wanted to see an XS with this kinda seat set up. Is that similar to what your planing on for now?

Yep thats the style im looking at!!!...

All in only been working on it a few weeks really, but I had a longish break that ate up a few months....

My aim was to get a bike that would roll and be a bit different, In the UK you no longer see beat up bikes on the road anymore cos the MOT regulations no longer allow for such things.. Bikes almost have to be brand new so im glad this will break the mold somewhat..

I havent even thought about jetting just yet im still looking at what silencers to fit, I want something shortish with removable baffle again just waiting for the right set to come up for sale..

I will try and get a vid up of it running in the next few days...
