Hello Everyone,

My name is Sean, I am 24 years old from Baltimore Maryland. I am a network engineer and know absolutely nothing about motorcycles... I recently picked up a 1980 and a 1972 xs650 from Craigslist with the intent to build my own custom bobber and learn as much as possible along the way. I am very excited for the journey that is to come..

I have already spent quite a bit of time digging through these forums and there is some really great information on here..

Over the next few months I am sure I will have many questions to come! I will try to keep the community posted with any progress that is made.

Anyways, looking forward to joining in on the boards!

I thought you said you knew nothing about bikes? You knew enough to pick up 2 (count 'em two) examples of one of the most desired bikes in exsistance. AND find one of the best sites about the. Welcome and ask away any questions you may have. Use the search feature first to get the wealth of experience of brothers before you. Use the signature feature to state what model your bikes are, changes made to them and maybe your life's signature. Pics are always welcome and lots of them. Welcome to our madness and enjoy the rides.
 
Bonez - Thanks for the link! It looks like some good events are coming up.. I just missed bikes on the beach and I was practically there..

Azman - Thanks for the welcome, I should have been a bit more clear.. I might know a thing or two.. but when it comes to anything mechanical I'm a complete newb..I've been checking out this site before I even picked up the bikes, figured with all the great information on here I should at least be able to get somewhere!

TeeCat/littlebill - Thanks for the Welcome.. glad to see some people close by! I am currently in Catonsville.
 
Hey HC..it was all ment in good tones and with a touch of ribbing. As you see in my signature, I too have an '80 and love it. I am a bit envious of you. You have 2 to play with. One to restore and ride and one to customize. Enjoy your rides and the many adventures the will give you on the roads and in the garage or wherever your going to work on them. They are easy to work on and fun to ride. Enjoy!

Wow, all these MD members that I knew nothing about! Welcome to the forum HC and yes, please do post pics as the projects progress!

Also, there is an unspoken rule here on the forum that if you have anything to get rid of as far as xs parts go, PM me before offering them up on the forum... :D:wink2:
