just wanted to say thank you to any of you out there that are service men or women for giving my the freedom to do what i want to .again THANK YOU ...and god speed to the ones over seas.....:)

I did my 20 '76-'96. 7 yr's freezin my ass in Europe and the rest sweatin it off in the desert of the SW US. Best adventures of my life. I see the troops today and I wonder if they feel the same as I did putting on the uniform? I was putting my pride and commitment to my country and my brothers in arms. As I sit and mull over the question and watch the troops, I get the answer and the answer is yes they do. Then I feel secure.

Hi Guys,

I just received a 1 hour "War Department" film about the 6th Marines on Okinawa. My father--aged 91--was with the 58th Seabees, attached to the 6th Marines. The film is amazing--primitive color, all actual footage, and of course every time they showed an armored Cat, I looked for my Pop.

And it got me thinking---again.

Those very old, bent over guys wearing sweaters in the Summer at the grocery store, buying their microwave dinners---they were 23 and vibrant once, and they put it all on the line for people who hadn't even been born yet: my generation. They did things no generation of Americans since has done, not the least of which is actually winning a war!

My generation fought Vietnam, and I couldn't be more proud. And the near-East Veterans are heroes, but somewhere along the way the government went silly on us: it became OK to lose a war, or to declare a draw and come home.

Ask those old guys in the ball caps and sweaters how they feel about that. We still have a couple of guys who drive around with "Pearl Harbor Survivor" license plates on their cars.....I wonder how they feel about "political" solutions.

It's not that our Armed Forces couldn't win any place, any time. They could. I marvel at the patriotism of young people who, knowing that they will be hamstrung by politics, still proudly put on the uniform and place themselves in harm's way.

So THANKS to every veteran who stood under our flag and said, "Thus far you shall come, and no further!" From the shadow of that protection----Thank You!

Fearing a beating from the administrator......Our generation and future generations will have to fight the socialists right here.......and if november passes with no change we are finished..............
