Trying to build a travel kit and am getting tired of paying the $5-$10 shipping fees on small parts. Does anyone know if local autoparts/motorcycle parts carry the Iridium plugs for my 78? Maybe there is something comparable in a different make/sku?

I got mine at checker, just tell them you want the iradium plugs for the xs650. Its the same part number as everywhere online. Auto zone had them too, only $7.50 each here...

There catalog uses a different number, but the part number on the box matches up to what everyone uses. I can look on the box when I get home and tell you the number

What are you saying?.I got the bp 8's for $1.58 and the iridium(same as mikesxs sells for $6.00.

I wasnt responding to your post, I was saying that checker, autozone, pepboys, ect. use a different number to catalog the plugs, but that when you get them the part number on the box matches the part number that everyone sells online.

Hope I am not hijacking but it looks like you already got your answer. Are iridium spark plugs better if you are using the stock ignition coil?

Yeah local auto stores have them mine was out of stock and had them the next day...although they made my xs run kinda shitty could never get it right and felt as if the sound wasnt as good.

To those who said they bought theirs at autozone, napa and like places:
  1. What part number did you use to look them up?
  2. Are they the NGK Iridium's or something else?
  3. thanks!

The ones I got are NGK iridiums, the part number is BPR7EIX. This is the same part number pamco used in their dyno test of the xs with iridium plugs. Either tell the store your make, model, and year and tell them you want the ididiums, or just tell them you want ngk 4055's, that's the number they use.

Here is a pic of the box for reference.
