For Sale - XS650 laced wheels

I have a set of laced XS 650 wheels with good tires for sale. They need some polishing and have some surface rust on a few of the spokes but they are in good shape overall. Front brake rotor and rear brake assembly included(rear sprocket as well). Tires are in good shape too. Asking $150...

    deconstruction of the cafe racer

I would chop that bitch up like I was the green river killer. It looks killer now but if it isn't what you want, do what you gotta do.

    what's it worth?

I don't think that it's because no one has a clue but maybe they don't wanna hurt your feelings? I don't know what the market is in your area but around here, you would be really lucky to get most of your investment back out of it. It's got a lot of really nice components and it looks like an...

    Brake Splitter

Oh, I see. I thought you were wanting a way to link the front and rear brake together. My Shovelhead chop has no front brake. It is a 21inch spool and has no hub to attach the rotor to. I just plumbed my front master to the rear brake. I would have used the rear brake instead but it is a...

    Brake Splitter

I built a sidecar set-up a few years back so my young daughter could ride with me. I ended up having issues with the mid mounted pegs and the Velorex mount and it forced me to remove the rear brake MC. I ended up using a brake proportioning valve tied in with the front master cylinder. It...

    Two Wheel Mafia's Current build

I like drop seat frames on certain bikes but for some reason I can't get my head around one on a XS. As for your customer liking it, that's all that matters. BTW, he doesn't look real happy in those pics. Did he just get the bill for the build or is he practicing his mean biker look? :)

    Two Wheel Mafia's Current build

How much longer? There is already a lot of space between the rear of the engine and the wheel. I am not sure adding extra "air" there will help from a cosmetic standpoint. Maybe more of a drop seat style to give the impression that it's longer? Who knows, I haven't really gotten started on...

    Two Wheel Mafia's Current build

No problem. I think we are just used to seeing the hinge mount on the backbone itself so naturally we are more inclined to mount it there. My sportster chopper I built has an awkward, to me anyway, seat position and I think it is because of the location of that front mount. I have it as far...

    Two Wheel Mafia's Current build

I think it has a good look to it even though I am not really diggin the exhaust either. As for the seat, I am building a TCbros hardtail XS right now and I am using a spring seat, like most everyone it seems. What I am doing is fabbing a bracket coming off the center part of the backbone below...

    I just bought a Harley

I don't know about any motorcycles but the "liar" part is more and more believable as this thread unwinds. To the Original poster, I apologize for hijacking this thread over this childish BS. You have a nice looking Road King, well worth the money and I am sure you will enjoy it.

Sportbike muffler on a parallel twin?

The Supertrapp set-up above sounds pretty nice and I kinda like the street tracker too but the "pop" irritates me a little. The muffler on that bike looks like a modified stock sportbike exhaust too so that may your best bet for finding the sound clip you want.

    I just bought a Harley

I seem to remember you telling a story about a mythical panhead too. You know, the one you refused to show pictures of because "A. I'm not 12 years old" and then you started acting like the 12 year old. Might as well show pictures of it right? Unless, it doesn't exist in that case, I...

    I just bought a Harley

Joe, the Maxim is a 1982 and the wheels are stock but the tank is modified tank from 2000 Honda Shadow VLX 600. As for my bikes, nah, they aren't all rigids. I have a 2004 Springer Softail and a 2007 Street Glide for the times when I want a little more comfort :). When it comes to hardtails...

    I just bought a Harley

Nah, more like you simply being an asshat. The "t" is in there because when I created this screename 11 years ago, madav8r was already taken. I could have changed it when I registered here to make it more appealing to any simple minded people but hey, I don't wanna spoil your fun. Joe, here...

    I just bought a Harley

I never said you did. I merely pointed out your idiotic hypocrisy to call out the HD rider for stating "if we have to explain, you wouldn't understand" but you didn't bother to comment when the metric rider said "I don't get the Harley thing at all".

    I just bought a Harley

I never said they suck, much less that they suck so "bad". I pointed out the inaccuracies of your testament about their "flawless reliability". Not that you would have any clue really since 5K miles is hardly enough miles on a machine to claim "flawless reliability" I just happen like to...

    Replacement Grips ????

Motorcycle grips are sized appropriately to fit each side of the handlebars. The throttle side will be larger to accommodate the throttle sleeve. As for the existing tube being reusable, it is. You may have to cut the old grip off, depending on how much glue was used when it was installed...
