I finally laced the wheels I won here on the forum to my hubs (Thanks Mike's XS). Now I just need to get them trued and have the tires mounted. I painted the hubs with Rustoleum appliance epoxy paint.

I used the old rear wheel bearing to tap in the new one. Now I can't get the old one out. Is there a way to do it, or do I have to take them both out and get another new bearing? Any ideas?

I'm working on a '72 bobber build. The engine has about 14,000 miles on it, and it has very good compression. It has been in storage for about 10 years. I was not able to start it due to the carbs being so gummed up. My question is should I go ahead and rebuild the engine, or just wait and see...

When I changed the oil in my newly acquired '72 xs2 i found metal flakes in the oil filter. Is this very bad news? What should my next step be as far as engine inspection be? Am I looking at a total rebuild?

Here's a pic of my newly acquired '72 XS2. Drove five hours one way to pick her up. I haven't cranked her yet, but she has good compression, 145psi in the right cylinder and 140 psi in the left. Guess the next steps will be to clean the carbs, check the electrical components, and see if I can...

Hi. I've been lurking here for a little while. Thought I had better join since I'm going to drive five hours to pick up a '72 xs650 tomorrow. I'm going to attempt a bobber build. We'll see how it goes. Hopefully it will turn out great with help from the people here. Steve
