    fitting TZR250 ends?

Hi Shakey How did you get on with raising the back end? I've got a 77 650 custom, (smaller rear wheel) and want to raise the rear end for a better line, possibly lower the forks too.

    timing/compression/fuel/air

Thanks all for your support, and apologies for not replying until now, I have been reading but had no new info to post. I've now had the carbs balanced and it's running a lot better but a few things I need to do. What I know is - Carbs / Air filters. Original Mikuni's (134's I think) with K&N...

    timing/compression/fuel/air

I've already encountered that, took me a couple of hours going back over work I'd done to work it out. But thanks

    timing/compression/fuel/air

Ok, I'm a newb but picking things up. I've had my 650 on the road for one week, the start of which it was running fine but improved as I gave it a good day long ride. I then lubed the clutch cable because it was stiff and afterwards learnt that a kickstart works on the clutch. Now the real...

    Bike not starting!

I loosened the clutch cable off and started like a dream. For a short while anyway, now another problem. I think I'm not getting compression for kick start and when I do finally get it running it's rough as hell, jerky, backfires, and cuts out first chance it gets at a junction

    Bike not starting!

I've had my bike on the road 4 days, first two it started 2nd or 3rd kick or by electric start albeit tired sounding. Since I lubed my clutch cable, it's been a bitch to start cold, 50 times I guess. I have also played with the idle screw but I think Leo might be on the money for my problem so...

That's really nice. Did you have to rejet the carbs having put the air pods on? If so, can you tell me what size and where from?

That's a beautiful bike! Love what you've done with the engine and the paintwork. Did you have to rejet it having put the exhaust and K&N's on, and if so, where did you get the kit from and what sizes?

Where/How did you first learn to work on your bike?

I'm new to fixing my bike too. As a kid I'd strip down my mountain bike every week but that was simple mechanics and now I find dealing with fuel and electrics completely new so I spend a lot of time reading through topics on what I'm working on at the time. I have also found a great mechanic...

    Wanted - Z2 Needle Jets for '78-'79 BS38 carbs

Sorry I can't help Carter, I'm in the same boat myself needing a rejet kit for my '77 XS which the last owner put air pods on and no he didn't keep the stock filter. If anyone can tell us where we might get some, preferably in the UK, it'd be a big help

My Yamaha XS650 Street tracker Build by olddude13

I've just had a look through the rest of the thread and seen the pictures, that is awesome! A really stunning bike. I have similar visions for my project but more street scrambler. I'll get some pictures up as soon as I get back from holiday where I am right now but still obsessing about the...

My Yamaha XS650 Street tracker Build by olddude13

I've just bought a 77 xs650 which already has some air pod filters on it, not K&N but copies. Can anybody tell me what rejet kit sizes I need? I realise it's a trial and error thing but if I can benefit from someone else's errors and save money I'll be happy.
