Welp, got the carbs out and immediately found a problem Yup, that would adversely affect the functionality of the floats. Sucker was full of gas, absolutely was a sinker.

Ah, so even if one side was correct, the floats could be "whopperjawed" in there, causeing the spill. Thanks! I got the bike to my shop, kind of an adventure. Could hardly get over 35-40mph, gasoline dripping onto my foot. Fun!

I have a new (Less than 15 miles) solid state regulator/rectifier combo, like this: MikesXS Reg/Rec combo I'd sell it for $75 shipped. Kills me, bought it thinking that's what was wrong with the bike...ended up being my rotor instead, so I upgraded to a PMA.

I have stuff off my 79, but unfortunately I think the stator was only good on a 70-79 model. My rotor tests pretty weak, probably don't want that. Brand new reg/rec unit, wouldn't be opposed to selling it.

If you do decide to break it down, I'd be interested in the tire. When you say "stator cover" are you talking about the plate that hides the alternator on the left side of the bike? If so, how much are you looking for?
