Petcocks for 1981 Yamaha Virago XV750

No. They are not interchangeable. I finally got these from a guy for a few bucks so it didn't really cost me anything. I was surprized at how much larger the 650's were than Virago's. Like about 50%. Oh well, was worth a try.

    Electric starter II

I got another #4 gear on the starter, behind the clutch. That works and now the starter turns the engine over. The #4 gear doesn't want to disengage now. A couple of times the gear disengaged and then went back towards the center of the engine, or re-engaged and sits in the engaged position...

    The Kiss

A tough looking biker was riding his Harley when he sees a girl about to jump off a bridge so he stops. "What are you doing?" he asks. "I'm going to commit a suicide," she says. While he did not want to appear insensitive, he didn't want to miss an opportunity he asked "Well, before...

Petcocks for 1981 Yamaha Virago XV750

I took the picture off an internet classified ad, so I don't have a measurement. I was hoping for some experience / expertise on this. Thinking because of the year and Yamaha it might be the same or interchangeable.

    Clutch nut

This pic shows my $50 worth of Torque Multipliers leaning against what some guys on ebay would call $400 worth of parts.

    Clutch nut

I will have a relook at that washer. I thought it was strange for it to break. A two piece would be stranger.

    Clutch nut

Like I said, I'm groin to bust someting. The clutch removal tool isn't strong enough and bent like a pretzel and I jamed a wrench in the basket fins which broke a fin. I put a torque multiplier / pipe on the new 29mm socket from Sears and said WTF. I think the fin broke at the same moment the...

    Electric starter.

Had to wait for some money, some tools, some honey doo's. Got the clutch off and broke a piece of the clutch basket. The problem was the #4 gear was worn off. Now I know where the steel on the oil magnets came from. Those picks are on my stuff somewhere.

    Clutch nut

Is the clutch nut a standard right thread? Thought I should check before I really crank on the torque, as it isn't coming off easy. I'll take any suggestions on that also. I got a clutch removal tool from Mike's. I also got the clutch socket / 27 mm which is too small. This is a 1978. Thanks.

    Electric starter.

Pumps put a link on here that shows the gears behind the clutch. I found the same pics on 650motorcycles that had an explaination that I finally understood. The second pic shows a screwdriver pushing the #4 in toward the center of the case. 5twins said " When the little gear turns the big...

What is the function of the lever / bracket that is left of the red circled gears in 5twins picture, above? I did manage to get my kick starter back in.

    Electric starter.

In 5twins pic, both gears circled in red are spinning / turning. I put the kick starter lever back on it's shaft to give it some turns. That worked and turned the engine over. But as I was playing with it I pulled it away from the case and now I guessing I can't get the shaft back into it's...
