I'm an idiot :doh: and I lost the screws to hold the headlight ring and lamp onto the headlight bucket. Does anyone know where to find these parts, or what size they are and I can get them at the local hardware store?

Leo, thanks for the reply. You're right my issue is the draw. The rear signals are one filament 12v27w with ground to body of light. The new ones I purchased are 12v10/5w with two filaments. Sounds like those aren't going to work with the stock flasher. If I get the new 2 prong flasher...

Back working on the bike again. Had a question. I removed the floppy rear turn signals and replaced with smaller bullet style signals. The rears look and work great. The problem is on the front signals. I pulled the signals from the headlight, but the new signals don't have a threaded...

Yeah. Post in the back, '73 with pods, to non-vaccum petcocks. Rubber pads on inside of tank and cups on the backbone of the bike.

Will all Standard xs 650 tanks swap out with other standard years? specials? Are all XS650 tanks swap-able with out much effort (cutting off cups, etc.)?

Will that tank fit on a '73?

I was having problems with my bike staying up at about 3,000 rpms after slowing down and topping out at about 60mph. Bought new springs from Mikes. Still a problem. Clipped one ring off. Bingo runs great. Changed the oil. Bangin' all day at 65. 73' TX, BS38's with no vaccum barbs...

I have one that is in decent shape. A few small dents and one larger one. The dent isn't as big as the one on the tank that is for sale on ebay.

1973 TX650 mostly stock. K & N Air Filters Open Short Pipes Bike starts fine and idles great cold After warm bike runs great. Anything under 30mph works fine. The second you go above 3000rpms, it will stick and stay there. Sometimes it stays until bike is shut off. Sometimes it stays...

My '73 TX650 has 2377 miles on it. I think it sat for nearly 35 years with less than 1,000 miles.
