    2017 XS650 Calendar VOTE HERE!

Travis I think Gracie is a pretty unique bike, good for the calendar, but as you scroll down the photos you don't see the name. This makes it harder to get its supply of votes. I would hate to see it miss the calendar for the wrong reasons. I hope you can help. Cheers Xstim

Why be normal. This looks soooo refreshing. Love the looks. I think it would be easy to get into trouble being silly on this but what a blast to ride, just not too fast. Stopping might soil the seat

November 2012 "Specials only" resto, resto/mod voting and discussion.

Tough choises here. Royboy should have a few more votes I think, but I can't resist breaking the tie between the retired gent and sseres. I want to show some love to the super clean stocker, but the extra attitude of the sseres takes my vote. Is someone going to bring the tie back? Tim

Gas tank on an 08 Night Rod.

This thread has seemed to wander a bit but what the hell, I'll jump in. I have a few xs650 s, but ride a ducati st as a daily. Last summer I rode route 66 with my daughter on the back of an Electra Glide. It was great! Although most of my riding buddies don't want to admit you could have fun...

    swingarm, Radian or braced stock

That's encouraging. I am starting today on the stearing head and swing arm bushings. I don't get much time to work on it but I have the parts. This bike I intend to sell, so will likely end the up grades there. It has Mikes flat sides and long comandoes. I am keen to see how the handling...

    swingarm, Radian or braced stock

OOHH, Thanks Jack, I had not thought about that. Just lost a bid on a tx swing arm,:( anyone reading this just buy it and want to make a few bucks? I just put the duc away for the winter and took a short ride on my local favorite twisties with the '84 special:yikes: What a wobbly old...

    swingarm, Radian or braced stock

Hey, Did the fork brace do more than a special's giant chrome fender? I guess I should ditch that monster fender anyway.

    swingarm, Radian or braced stock

Hey, Thanks 5twins. That photo brings it back to me. Do you find it a worth while addition? It seems simple enough, even if you need to get someone else to weld it. It is good to hear a few others are spending a bit more money on these old bikes than I care to admit to my buddies. I am...

    swingarm, Radian or braced stock

Lots of info. Cool. Bracing the 750 arm? When do you need to help out the frame? I remember an old thread on a different forum that added some support to the frame in this area but do not remember just what was recomended. Any thoughts on this? Cheers Tim

    swingarm, Radian or braced stock

Hey, thanks guys. It does seem hard to make an old, well very old, bike ride like a new one but we keep trying.:banghead:

    swingarm, Radian or braced stock

Any thoughts on how a stock braced swingarm (in the traditional bent tube under on legs) would compare to a Radian swingarm. I am making a Cafe, I don't mind the old school looks but do want a good set up. I am also open to a third option. Cheers Tim

dwyatt Thanks, Dwyatt. Sounds like a plan.

Looking for 18" rear - what works??

dwyatt That sounds pretty cool. Drilling the rims, was that a hand drill and eyeball affair? Sounds too good to be true. Could you give a little more info on purchasing the spokes. Sorry for being a bit of a pain on this. I don't want to cannibalize the donor wheels without a good chance...

Looking for 18" rear - what works??

dwyatt Did you lace a rear rim (18") to a front 19" hub? Are the spoke holes the correct angle and where did you get the spokes? Tim

    rear disk and spokes

I am dreaming of a rear disk brake on a spoke wheel. Omars sells parts to put front wheels on the back but you are left with a real skinny tire (and very few to choose from). I was wondering if you can buy spokes to lace a front hub (from a 19" wheel) to a rear 18" rim, and if you can buy the...

    Circumnavigate the Continental United States

I think it will be a great trip. Keep giving a little love to the xs and buy the best riding jacket you can aford. Some good pants will also be nice if you are in the cold and rain of Canada.:bike: Cheers:thumbsup:

    help, no spark in gear

Hi guys I have not had any trouble with the bike for a long time now but when I started it up this morning it would run fine until I put it in gear. The wire on the case is attatched, (motor quits when it it is disconnected). The little relay box behind the left side cover, clicks when the...
