go buy a test light and make sure youve got power going to the wires that need to have it! if you got no power it burned. check wires going to and from reg rec and stator

i recently had the same thing happen. when the head gaskets weaken they sometimes blow "temporary" oil leaks at higher rpms. but not at lower ones go figure. Make sure you check your top of connecting rods while your in there high heat can make the damn wristpins swell just enough to loosen...

try cleaning the contacts inside the switch itself with an emory board. (thin nail file) gently! (borrow one from your girlfriend or mom) usually there is corrosion on the contacts itself

check for intake and exhaust leaks. can of carb clean, spray on intake and exhaust manifolds while bike is running. if the idle bobs you need to replace the manifolds. also soak the carbs for a day or so in a good carb cleaner and make sure you run a small piece of wire through all the jet...

if you have a buffing wheel use that first. if not you can use 0000 steel wool (finest they make) with mothers polish take your time it takes a while. but a buffing wheel yields the best results
