I got a set of spoked yamaha DT400 wheels (21" front, 18" rear) dirt cheap that I plan on using on my XS, but was wondering if it's possible to either convert to disc brakes or would it be easier to swap out the centre hubs with disc versions?
I've read through a very large amount covering various info about rephasing, and that to get to 277 it is split the crank, twist three splines and then press back together. But is it really that simple?
I know the crank will need to be trued but can it be done without a total disassembly...
I'm looking to possibly rebore my cylinders to 700cc but can't quite justify the cost of a set of JE pistons at the moment (I can get a rephase for the same cost in the uk) are the any other pistons from other bikes that would work in a rebored xs650?
Just started to collect bits for my new project, and am after the following items:
Xs650 frame - with or without paperwork
Clutch worm
Left side generator cover (the big bit not the round bit)
If any of you guys can help out that would be ace.
