Wanted - Rear wheel bearing spacer (fits inside large bearing)

I threw away my old wheel bearings like an idiot. It turns out there's a spacer that fits on the larger ID bearing (sprocket side). It's #20 in this picture (not the highlighted parts): http://650rider.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=download&id=279 Thanks!

Rear shock length...again - Special frame

Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice for rear shock length. I know this has been discussed in great detail, but I couldn't find anything that was specifically directed at a heritage special frame (the shock mounts are 20mm lower, and further forward than the standard frame, which makes the...

Has anyone bought the 18" Front from Mike's?

Just laced up my 18" front using mikes kit. 18x2.50" aluminum rim with the stainless spoke kit. Looks sweet! Now I gotta get it true and put the tire on... edit: after looking closer I can see my spoke angles don't quite match the rim perfectly. but i don't think it's going to cause a...

Has anyone bought the 18" Front from Mike's?

I just ordered a 18x2.5" black aluminum rim & stainless spokes for the front. Hopefully I'll be getting the hub powdercoated, and lace them up within the next few weeks. I'll be sure to post pictures once I get somewhere with it

For Sale - Complete TCI and charging system from '83

I'm tearing down my '83 XS650 heritage special, and won't be using the TCI ignition system. All the parts are there, but I can't guarantee it works (bike is far from running). Everything seems to be in good shape though. I'm also selling the rotor & stator. The stator is oxidized a little...

Will a heritage special rear drum swap to a standard wheel?

I believe my bike is an '83 Heritage Special (vin tag shows build date of 11/82). It is the 48 spoke rear, 64 spoke front combo I checked a parts fiche, and found a couple different part numbers for the rear drum cover. However, I did confirm that the drum cover from my '83 is the same PN as...

Will a heritage special rear drum swap to a standard wheel?

Hey guys, I'm looking to change the wheels on my heritage special to the standard 36 spoke style. (They're for sale btw :D) Can I reuse the drum brake on my current 16" rear wheel with the standard rear hub? I found a rear wheel for sale locally, but the drum brake is not included...

Has anyone bought the 18" Front from Mike's?

sweet photo Tim! Think there's room for a wider tire in the rear with this setup? I was thinking of doing 18x2.5 front and rear, but trying a 130/70 or 130/80 tire in the rear. Is that possible?

Xs650 PMA and Boyer Box Help!

I think you want the plug/cap/wire combo to be ~10k ohms (don't quote me on the value). I think a good rule of thumb is to use 1 component with a resistor built in. I.e. use NGK R plugs (built in resistor), resistor plug caps, or resistor plug wires. But only ONE resistor element (don't use...

Xs650 PMA and Boyer Box Help!

the first black box you posted (says "voltage regulator" on it) is the regulator/rectifier. The 3 yellow wires connect to your stator, the red goes to the battery, black to ground. The blue box I'm guessing is an ignition control module, and looks like it has wiring info right on the label...
