    Stupid newbie question

    Not exactly sure what you mean.It seems to be popping on the right side.That side also has a rattle in the pipe.I plan on changing it this winter when I do all the other stuff for the transformation.

    OK,after finally getting a chance to put a few miles on it this weekend I've come to the conclusion that I need to clean the carbs.It seems to want to backfire while warming up and on deceleration.I also ordered some air pod filters.I figure while I have it apart for cleaning I'll need to rejet...

    Stupid newbie question

    OK.Since I'm still new to all this working on bike stuff,I have a stupid question.:eek: I have an '81 so,if I've read correctly,I should have the BS34CV carbs.Is thais correct.Now for the stupid question.Will these work on my bike without changing carbs?Any advice will help. Thanks, Pat

    Pics and measurements wanted

    newbie intro

    It has a charging problem but,after some testing,I've come to the conclusion it's the rotor.Just need to get that replaced and then it's just some tuning.

    I've already checked those and they're fine.The guy I got it from said he replaced the stator.I'm slowly going through the checks in the Clymer's manual.Unfortunately,the bike is at my brothers so it is taking more time than I want.
