ENGINE WILL NOT DIE off the THROTTLE - CLUTCH? CARBS?

Did you check ebay for the UNI filters? That's where I found mine for the best price.

Anyone ever taken apart Mike's XS speedo for bulb change?

Thanks Turbo, I'll check it out. I have used SuperbrightLEDs before - have one of their flashers installed on my bike. Didn't get a chance to dive into it this weekend but will do so soon hopefully.

Anyone ever taken apart Mike's XS speedo for bulb change?

So I have a mini speedo from Mike's XS - this one - and I noticed the backing light isn't all that great. I don't ride at night much but I did last night and was underwhelmed. From the looks of it there is probably one small bulb down the bottom by the odometer that projects on the whole face...

ENGINE WILL NOT DIE off the THROTTLE - CLUTCH? CARBS?

Sounds sort of like what I was experiencing somewhat recently when my low end was running lean. I ended up adjusting my idle mix screws out and upping my pilots and now it's ok. Might not be your solution but maybe something to think about. I'd put my faith in what the experts have to say first!

Replacing separate lights/signals/etc. switches with factory unit. Help?

Welp I was in luck and did have the black ground wire. Got everything hooked up and cleaned all the wiring up on the front of my bike with wire loom and everything is working great! Thanks again for all of the help. Much easier/more ergonomic than using the set if hodge podge switch setups I had...

Replacing separate lights/signals/etc. switches with factory unit. Help?

I'm going to go check in a minute but I believe I did have a black wire from the switch. I do have the enricher thumb lever on it as well. I am not running an electric start or right switch so it sounds like I will be able to just ground that one black wire and be OK. I am running a battery...

Replacing separate lights/signals/etc. switches with factory unit. Help?

Hi again. So I "finished" working on my bike a little while ago (they are never really finished) and decided I did not like my handlebar switch setup. My turn signal switch was a very temporary/redneck solution that worked and I had every intention of replacing it. Horn placement isn't ideal but...

your homebrew controls/switch mounts...pics or it didn't happen

Posh switches are very nice looking. Haven't used them myself but the ones I have seen have looked very nice. I saw some on a bike by Exile Cycles that looked nice and clean. They are expensive though... too rich for my blood - http://www.gripace.com/

What do you do for a living ???

Unfortunately not that much anymore. It just costs so much compared to gold leaf vinyl (Sign Gold vinyl is 23 karat gold made into a cuttable vinyl film). It looks awesome when done well but costs a few arms and a few legs. I have done a few myself... wish I could do more.

    Pandemonium Cycles

You probably ordered your exhaust the same time I did  it was right when they left for a bike show, around 7/22 I believe. Just got my Ya Mama pipes in a few days ago and they are great. Fit and finish is superb and they sound nice too. Very throaty. Have a DEI wrap kit on the way to...

    Wiring correct? Also carb question

The top cable is a cable-activated choke. Available on later model XS bikes. The cable ran to a thumb lever on the handlebars.

83xs with just a pamco ignition

Yup you're right! Shows how bad of a memory I have. Mine is wired up right, I just can't remember it and put it on the drawing

83xs with just a pamco ignition

I believe that's how they are generally wired, but I could be wrong. I don't have my manual with factory diagram in front of me. Never had any problem with it draining the battery. Have started the bike after sitting for 3 weeks (not on a charger) and starts right up with full voltage. The...

83xs with just a pamco ignition

This is the one I ended up with. I saw the base diagram on here with some of the photos on it and liked it, so I changed it around and added stuff I needed (turn signals, horn, etc.)
