Issues with a 19 rear and 18 front?

The bike is primarily going to be a street bike for just cruising around town with occasional highway cruising, it will never be ridden in the rain, I'm a fair weather rider, also no track or real aggressive riding. I just want to make sure it's not going to be a safety issue, the diameters and...

Issues with a 19 rear and 18 front?

Everything is compatible, xs650 front and rear hubs so that's not an issue

Issues with a 19 rear and 18 front?

As the title says, is there any issues running a bigger wheel in the back than in the front? I see most bikes have the same size or the front one is one or two inches larger than the rear. I ask because that's what I have and if I'm able to use I will. Rear is a 19 x 2.15 and the front is an 18...

    Here goes nothing

I also had to re do the bellcrank. The one I originally used just wouldn't work to actuate the shock correctly. The design I came up with gives me about 2.5 inches of shock travel to 5 inches of wheel movement. I made it out of 1/4 inch plate and the middle pivot will have a needle bearing...

    Here goes nothing

New swingarm brace and bracket for pushrod Used some 1x2 to brace the hoop to the actual swingarm Then I took some 1-1/4 square tube to make the attachment for the heim joint (rod end) of the pushrod. I made two attachment points so I could have a bit of adjustability and keep the...

    Here goes nothing

Still working on it, took a break for a bit, got a little burned out. Got back to it about a month or so ago. I completely re did the back section of the frame to add a kick up for a tail section and changed the way the rear shock sub frame attaches to the rear frame rails. I was never happy...

    Here goes nothing

Got the rear subframe/seat area pretty much done just need to do the finish welding and a bit of grinding. Cut some gussets from 3/16 plate and used them to brace the area where the new rear seat supports meet the frame Then I drilled a hole and welded in a sleeve for looks, will...

    Here goes nothing

Last night I worked on the seat to frame braces. Made a very simple jig Applied some heat and made some bends. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was.

    Running lights

No, what I want is the lights to go on when the key is turned on and off when it's turned off. Take the switch totally out of the equation so she won't forget to turn them off and on.

    Running lights

Ya, I may go the relay route. It's for my wife's CB360 and she's a little scatter brained :wink2: so I would rather eliminate the chances of her forgetting to turn the lights off and killing the battery. The ignition is the stock points with electric/kick start and a normal battery, just want to...

    Running lights

If I wanted to wire for running lights, both headlight and tail light on when bike is running, could I just run them thru the ignition switch to the on or run terminal? Do I need a relay in there somewhere? In other words, can I get rid of the headlight "on/off" switch and just power them when...

Anyone use a dual output coil?

Thank you everyone for the input, I know I'll always get the answers I need from this forum. I'm not too concerned with the original mounting location and holes, I was more looking for a one piece unit at a good price that I can mount where I want when I start on the wiring, and I'll be using...

Anyone use a dual output coil?

Does anyone have any experience with this or a similar dual output coil? Seems like it would fit the bill and also save a little space...

    Here goes nothing

Did some work on the swingarm yesterday. I was originally going to fab up a hoop and a pushrod mount for the brace but I had an old XT400 swingarm that had a brace and mount already on it, so I used that instead. Forgot to take a pic of the XT swingarm before I cut the brace off but, this is...

    Here goes nothing

Hello everybody, hope you all had a nice weekend. I got a little bit done between yard work and enjoying the sunshine. I was able to cut and tack the two forward braces onto the bellcrank mounts. They're angled and welded to a 1/4 inch bracket that is bolted to a clevis that I welded into the...
