Thanks for the info guys. I was mainly wondering if I should even bother posting them for sale on CL. Don't necessarily want to wear them myself but they are taking up room in the garage and I hate to just dumpster them. I could always make something "artsy" out of them if nothing else.

Thank you all for the helpful suggestions. DogBunny, I saw your response concerning the diaphragm after responding to your PM. I'll have to have you take a closer look to see if it's salvageable. I'll give you a call and set something up for the near future.

I need some help determining if one of my carburetor diaphragms is still good to go or trash. I'm thinking the latter but maybe not. I pulled off the cap and noticed that the diaphragm was not inserted correctly the last time I took the carbs apart. As a result one of the edges was flattened...

Going back to my initial question, upon closer inspection I did manage to find some remnants of a gasket. It was coated in white silicone which is what I spotted initially since the gasket was completely flattened. XJ, the plugs were fouled up with black soot. Running rich I assume and the...

Sorry about the confusion y'all. I was referring to the float needle. The rubber tip felt pretty hard and not at all "rubbery". Figured it was bad so I replaced it. Chunked the old one so I'm SOL if I should have held on to it.

The rubber tip on the needles was pretty hard so I decided to replace them just in case. Will check the plugs when I get back to the house.

Thanks xj. I replaced both o-rings and the needle. All I have to do now is adjust the floats to 27 mm if I remember correcly. Will have to order some gaskets now too. More $$$ to MikesXS!

Marty, just curious...will any year 1100 tail fit with the same seat setup as Loosetrucks? Stock 1100 bracket? Mine is a 82 Heritage but should be similar to the 83.

Wish I could say the same for our weather here in Austin, TX. Still hotter than the devils frying pan. I can do about 20 min max in the garage and that's about it. Can't wait to see the finished build! :thumbsup:
