Thank you. Don't know what the gun is but I bought it in mexico didn't mean to do a "guns and roses theme" Named my daughter Catherine Rose and was looking to fill space and saw that gun on the mantle so copied it. tires are 100/90/19 and 130/90/16

So I've been off the map for about 8 months. Lots been going on around here. My first daughter is now 4 months old so I haven't had a lot of time with the bike. I decided to try my hand at leather carving and I think it turned out very well. pics as always.... started with the grips...

    Alternate electrical connectors

I got my stuff at cycleterminal.com. I used the Amphenol connectors. Not the cheapest route but they are great connectors. http://www.cycleterminal.com/amphenol-at-dt-connectors.html#AmphenolAT

    My first build attempt - '83 xs650s

bike looked alright the way it was (with a couple minor tweaks) but what's the fun in that? Chop Chop. Good that you can get your son involved early. In true internet fashion I have to comment on random background items I like the "premium natural firewood" that comes in a box. Really??

    Project... "Fast & Flow"

I don't have a lot to say about the wiring but I don't see a horn in there. Also, most wiring diagrams have the reg/rec powered all the time. It might just be my reg/rec but it drained my battery wired like that. I now have everything going through the key switch so when key is off nothing...

    Looking for this exhaust?

fucking $430!!! I've seen some absurd shipping prices but that is beyond. I bought a set from Gordonscott (different pipes but still a whole exhaust) and shipping was reasonable to Canada. That guy just doesn't want to deal with exporting.

    kicking bike over by hand?

I hear there are a lot of arm wrestlers out in Nova Scotia, lol! I never tried but I'm pretty sure I couldn't start mine with my arm but I'm not a big guy either. Get a compression tester and then you'll know for sure. I just went out to the garage for shits and giggles and leaned on the...

Not planning on it. I'm not sure how thick it is but it is pretty heavy gauge steel and doesn't move much.

Not much else is new to this machine, just been riding a bit here and there. Waiting for snow to fly before I tear it all apart again. Should be any day now. I got a question via PM about the rear tank mount so figured I might as well post it here for everyone. There are a few different...

81 XS650 hardtail build. let's call this one the "Flying Crowbar"

Thanks for the interest. I used cloth covered wire in ashpalt loom. I'm happy with it because any wire you do see looks good. The problem with the cloth wire is it still has the new plastic insulation with the cloth over top so it's quite thick. You can only run a few wires in one loom...
