    it differs when you've never tigged before. thanks for making me feel tiny:thumbsup: bit more progress. hope i get to ride before snow. cam chain/valve lash adjusted. more cutting and grinding done.

    teaching myself lift tig. and finished my seat frame. made a seat pan...but couldnt find my fiberglass mat....so used some scrub tops i had laying around as rags :) :thumbsup: now i gotta find some scrap carpet padding :D

    lubed chain, rolled her around the patio. sat on her and pretended the wind was running through my hair. then i chopped the makeshift seat rail i had off. chopped old tank brackets off as the angle was bad for my soft tail monoshock. made some brackets to lift the tank. installed a rear rail...

    i'll order the e-advancer. i'm assuming mike has instructions on the site? i'll be reading the manual to learn how to adjust cam chain and valves...in that order. i'll look further into the stacks i wanted to make. any ideas to a homemade 'still air' filter? i have the pleated k&n style...

    bought the 79 special 2 years ago. got it to run then killed it, bought it, took it home and tore into it. finally got it running a few weeks ago. rode it 5-10 feet to check basics last weekend. this weekend idled it for a good while. then ran her around the neighbor hood. so... right...

    rolled her out of the shed. started her up. fixed an oil leak. started her up again, revving her up a few a smiling. installed the drive chain. backed her up more, drove her 5 feet, then powered her back into the shed. walked in the house smiling.

    wired it up and got her to turn over. waiting for my reg/rec to come in then will make the real deal wire harness
