    Swing arm Bushings

I believe it will be Ok to use a roto tool, as such, to ease the beginning of the hole for the pressing of bearings into the swing-arm [only the first, say, 5mm.]. Remembering that cleanliness of the bore is paramount before lightly pressing the bearings home. The double roller swing arm...

    Strange Blueing of Exhaust Pipe

Well I checked out those drain holes and they seem the same both sides, just a gentle puff when engine is running. I believe this is correct! It doesn't seem to be getting worse and there seems to be no leaks around the area of the header/ muffler connection. If you look at this pic, you will...

    Anyone Identify This?

For those that could not get into the above mentioned site try this... Here is the photo. It is obviously the same bike with smaller balloon wheel/ tyres. It's called a Tula and it is from Russia. The original steel wheels, I believe are for easy attachment of chains for snow and swamps...

    Strange Blueing of Exhaust Pipe

Nonclow & Jayel thanks for the responses. Javel, I have felt a continuing puff of air around the area you mention. I thought this is just a drain for condensation? I'll check later to see if it's both sides. I felt it when I was bare footed beside the bike with a running engine... I did think it...

    Strange Blueing of Exhaust Pipe

Thanks for the replies. I'm a bit reluctant to remove header & exhaust pipe at this stage. The exhaust/ muffler doesn't look or sound corroded. I know tappets are good. I'm thinking the discolouration maybe due to the excessive fuel/ oil, from a previous leak, along with oil leaking from a head...

    Swing arm Bushings

Agree with Ggg, no heat, no freeze, just ensure cleanliness in bore of swingarm and pivot. not much thickness for grease nipple.... Good luck! RegardZ.

    Swing arm Bushings

If the kit has double-needle roller bearing on both ends, then that's the way to go! Included in the kit should get a new pivot shaft or sleeve, that has the ground surface which is perfect. The brass or phor'-bronze will serve well, sometimes needs an adjustable reamer to remove a small amount...

    Strange Blueing of Exhaust Pipe

I purchased a TX500A about 3 months ago. I notice some blueing of the exhaust pipe in an unusual area. It not quite blue, but it's heading that way, with the usual mottled straw colouring. The strange area where this has happened or is still happening is ahead of the LHS muffler clamp...

    What model calipers are these

I make those calipers out to be approx '76- 78 Kawasaki, could be KZ650, kz900 or even Kz1000. They are after '75. Disks look of same make and era. Rear wheel hub could be kZ650.Most bikes went to rear disk around 1978. RegardZ

Shipping Carbs from USA to Australia

I just had trouble with the seller of some '74 Keihin Carburettors, unable to post them from Wisconsin USA. The Ebay purchase was cancelled and my PalPal was refunded (In part... not sure about post yet). Evidently, an over zealous post office clerk, stated they were considered a dangerous...

    Component Restoration

Thanks for the prompt reply guys. I will investigate that process. I think I've seen it before. I may have to settle for a dark grey flat paint. BTW, I made the accompanying clamps for these covers, zinc plated, but could be flash chrome? RegardZ
