NX is a Warwickshire registration number,BSA as far as I recall always used the winged B on there badges.Looks like acetylene front light so pre 1930's.It's a great picture what ever it is and it would have been a great era to be around in with all those different bikes and designs around,if...

Would say it's a pre 1930's could be an Ariel it's not a BSA(look at tank badge) but there were many many marques around then

Big thankyou guys for the info you've given I now know I can't easily stick a disc braked wire wheel in,the alternative now is to put an 18" cast wheel in that matches my pattern thinking of building a flat tracker style bike and the 16" wheel wouldn't look right

XJWMX seat cover will be replaced on my bike it's looking rough I've seen a few variations of seat cover available on ebay from a UK based company that make them to order
