366 where does it fit in?

I am adding a front end from a 2012 R6 and have been contemplating a mono shock rear suspension. Also in my quest to have spokes and disk brakes front and rear I have a swing arm and hub that will meet that goal. Please let me know what mods you tackle over the coming months. thx! tim

366 where does it fit in?

You are correct, thx! That makes a lot of sense. What other mods are you planning ?

366 where does it fit in?

Great! When you say the "700 route" are you planning to over bore the stock cylinders? If so who makes the larger pistons? Tim PS is Jonesville near Coldwater?

366 where does it fit in?

For me the major upside of doing a rephase is less vibration at higher RPM's. My plan for the bike is to ride the back road of northern Michigan so high RPM is realy not needed. What I don't like the side effect of making the bike sound like a V-Twin (no offense to those who do) if I wanted that...

366 where does it fit in?

I have given some thought to the big bore kit, but it seems like the $'s to HP ratio is not very good? I am thinking about a rephrase engine with higher compression pistons, large bore carbs, electronic ignition, high flow exhaust and a high lift cam might be the better way to go? You would do...

366 where does it fit in?

Thanks for the info. After I posted my question I did a bit of research with the online parts finder at my local dealer. I did find that the 73 rods and pistons do carry the prefix of 256 and that changed to 447 in 74. I am building a café racer and have started looking into parts...

366 where does it fit in?

I have been reading about the all the variations of the 650 engines. I have a 73 TX650 with the 366 engine. Is the 366 a 256 or a 447? Or something in between? Thx!

Good Heart, Bad Intentions: another build thread

Thx for your input. I did find a hub, swing arm etc from a 77 Suzuki GS750 at a salvage yard here in Michigan. As you said it will require some mods but I think it will work well.

Good Heart, Bad Intentions: another build thread

I am under taking a very similar build. I am using forks, brakes and rear shock from a 2012 R6. I am having a hard time finding a rear hub that that uses both spokes and a disk. I have read your posting and can't find what rear hub you used, what hub did you use? Thanks! Tim

    XS650B : Sidecovers, 2000 SV650 Front End swap

Regarding the front disks, did the 2000 SV650 disks bolt directly to the XS650 spoked hub? I am going to swap an 07 R6 front end onto my 73 XS650. The problem I am having is the R6 disks diameter of the mounting holes is much larger then the XS650 and I am going to have to make an adapter to...

    New to XS650

Thanks! I had thought of re-sizing the bearings to solve the size deference in the axles, but the mount for the disks is about twice the diameter as the original (I can sent pics later). Are there others years with a smaller mount? Thx!

    New to XS650

Yes it very ruff! The engine turns over and has great compression. I am in the process of buying a complete front end from a 07 R6 to replace the chopper front end. I carefully measured both the new and old I think the disks will be the hardest parts to adapt. Has anyone found a hub (for a...
