How do you polish the valve cover?

120?! Wow. I've never started with anything under 400 grit, and that was on some rough parts.

    Another Ebay WOWZER!

I understand that the parts can be worth more than the entire bike, but he's asking almost $11,000 for the parts from 1 bike. This guy is fucking HIIIIIIIGH. Everyone should do the "question for seller" thing, and ask him what the hell he's smoking.

How do you all break in your boots?

If you want to buy them because they are Made in USA, don't bother. They are made in China. Found out the hard way when I found a "Made in china" sticker stuck to my sock 1 day.

How do you all break in your boots?

That's funny.... had a mexican guy tell me once that their old family cure was to put a long cone made of newspaper in the ear, and light the far end. As far as boot break in..... I buy redwings, and they are a little tough to break in, but with the work I do, I generally have them broken...

    Moody's Garage.....My Husbands XS builds

Thanks, I was wondering what "totally fucking different without looking retarded" looked like. It's hard to rethink an xs650, but you, or your husband, or whoever is building these has done so. Edit: I'm sorry .... F'You. I thought of the fire extinguisher/gas tank first. sorry. I...

Watch out for cell phone cameras

I don't know what he does. There are a couple pictures from his gym in which there's an "outlaw" working out, etc as the subject. By Outlaw I do mean the MC. Dude's either got huge fucking balls, or is just fucking stupid. Not sure which.

Make me feel better about my overcrowded fire hazard garage

OK, I'm getting to the point where the garage will never be clean again. I simply have too many "things". I put my weed whacker in a small room in the garage the other day, and 20 minutes later when I walked back in realized it was full of fumes (direct vented gas cap, leaky carb). It seems like...

Watch out for cell phone cameras

Guy I went to high school with (way back when) is a fucking ninja with an iphone. Posts stuff on facebook, nearly daily. Takes pics at walmart, on the train, in the gym, everywhere. I don't know how he's never had his phone fed to him.

    Decent LED replacement bulbs?

Thanks for the replies guys. Not sure if I got the answer that I was looking for, but...... I guess I should have been more specific... I was looking to avoid the $25 LED bulbs, but understand that the $3 LED bulbs are probably shit. I'll just bite the bullet and but some mid range bulbs...

    Decent LED replacement bulbs?

I want to replace all of the signal and brake bulbs on my bikes with LEDs. Mainly because the stock charging systems on the XS650, and XS400 are shit. Anyone have any experience with GOOD replacements? I'm looking for ones that are brighter than stock, not dimmer. I mean if the free harbor...

Those look like they would work great. I have always been able to manage with a good set of needle nosed pliers. Grab the end, twist, and pull.

What Kind of Paint Are You Using

You'll need to use a catalyzed clear to protect it from fuel. When you start spraying catalyzed paints you step into a whole new world of respirator safety. There is NO respirator other than a fresh air system that will catch the isocyanates in catalyzed clear. I probably knocked 15 years off...
