    odd sized front rotor required

If I can't find a caliper, that might be the path home. That or rear brake only. A friend in the motorcycle biz has offered to help me find an old banana caliper and see if we can shave them.

    odd sized front rotor required

BTW - problem still not solved. :-) Rotor is fine, but haven't been able to find a caliper that I can run, all the ones tested so far hit the spokes.
  8. Where the Giant Red Devil got her name

Where the Giant Red Devil got her name

The jockey shift, like the bike, was a barn find (but different barn). This cast-iron lever is stamped "Giant Red Devil", which gave the name and the color scheme to the bike. Mounting this heavy antique was a challenge, but worth the trip.

Paint detail and front frame detail

The only bubbles I ever want to see in my paint are those in the paint job on my tank. Brass fixtures with sight tube, on Frisco-style tank. I bent the gooseneck on a Harbor Freight pipe bender, and replaced standard brace with coal auger. Note paracord wraps instead of zip ties, because 70s!!
  10. Electrics

    Electrics

Really wanted kick-only, but with high-compression racing engine, it's near impossible to kick, so I had to add a battery back on. That's the thing about a total custom bike - you have to make changes to your plan to roll with the punches.
  11. Engine view

    Engine view

A side view of the Big Bore kit and sight tube on the Frisco style tank. The Kick is by Brass Cycle Works, who powder-coated my kickstand, and added a brass kicker with a stripe of padauk wood, prized in Africa for drums and its rich color.
  12. Looong forks

    Looong forks

I know, it's a weird view. Note the dice, matching the Caesar's Palace dice keychain I use for the bike.

It took me FOREVER to find these lights. Completely not an exaggeration, 200 hours of searching... These are road lights from a 1966 Porsche 911SC, with housing flipped for bottom-mount instead of top-mount, and with H5 bulb.
  14. Giant Red Devil from the Left.

Giant Red Devil from the Left.

Note the KungFu grip on top of the antique hardware jockey shift.

  18. Front fame details on gooseneck & exhaust

Front fame details on gooseneck & exhaust

Details of the gooseneck showing the skull I embedded in the frame as a support. The Guardian watches over my ride. Exhaust is Mike's XS 2-into-1.
  19. Left rear quarter

    Left rear quarter

1.1" offset to support 180mm back tire + 4" rear stretch really changes the power train. Love the tail light. 16" x 5.5" rear 40 spoke wheel with Harley to Yamaha conversion sprocket that adds 1 tooth for more high-end. Note twisted fender strut, old-school tail light and plain kickstand.
