    Just introducing myself.

No it’s the standard position for a ‘72. It may be a little different than yours due to frame differences but I was just showing how the slip-ons look

    Resurfacing your old brake Discs

I’ve had a few instances where when I sold something on eBay the shipping was not what I was originally quoted. eBay gets their cut whichever way you ship so I used pirate ship and got a considerably lower cost. Easy enough to add a tracking number to the eBay sale.

Reinstalling the carbs on my 76 XS650.

I don’t recommend it but you can use a long pry bar or a wooden block to put pressure on the carbs pushing against the down tube of the frame. Again, if you do that be very, very careful. Otherwise with good lube and working them up and down with pressure and they will eventually go.

I’ve also had good luck buying the 10 packs from XS650direct. I originally bought a few to get my order to the free shipping zone but was pleased with them.

Brass is harder than copper and way more durable. I would think that if you used copper bullets that they would fold over or stretch when you tried to push them together. Just my :twocents:

    New to XS w/carb question.

If it’s a ‘77 you don’t have vacuum fittings on the boots. I also DO NOT recommend that rebuild kit unless it’s genuine Mikuni parts. Most of those kits are generic and cause more issues than they fix. Usually cleaning up the OEM parts works just fine.Read the carb guide in the tech section then...

    Resurfacing your old brake Discs

I can attest to using Pirateship. My wife was complaining about shipping costs and I told her about it because she ships lots of items. It’s super easy, accurate and generally saves about 10-20%.

Ooops. I mixed up my collars!

Once you put the spacers in with the wheel on, look down the chain. If it’s not straight it should tell you what you have to do with the spacers..
