Title says it all. I have a DNA caliper bracket and want to know the torque spec for the caliper mounting bolts. Red loctite?

Update, it appears that the one float bowls main threads were chewed up. The other bowl accepted the mikesxs jet just fine. I just rethreaded the messed up one with the new jet. Probably not the best idea but try finding the correct tap . I'll probably swap over to VM carbs when I tear it...

I think I'll go to the local shop and see if genuine mikuni jets fit any better.

Ack'd. I've got an assortment of mains, from stock to +2. I figure on tuning, just wanted to rebuild to baseline to start.

And the "small round" replacements

They drop in, but they don't screw in easy like the originals, here's the original measurment:

The round types appear to be slightly smaller on the threads.

Yeah, the ones that were in the bowls appear to be "round" type, so does that mean these are bowls from a different year or something? There is an "E" stamped in the bottom by the plug. Here's a pic of the bowls if that helps.

Seriously? Seems like you wouldn't keep sellng stuff that doesn't fit, or is there such variability in float bowls that some may fit and some may not?

Needles are correct (502). The thread pitch on the main jets looks the same, but they measure a little bit wider than the ones that came out.

Ok, I've got 78-79 BS38s (AFAICT) and got the appropriate rebuild kit from mikesxs. Everything works but the main jets are slightly too big. Here's some pics to illustrate: New on left obviously.

got the needles out, 502 needles, 5th (bottom) clip with a washer on top. go back to clip 3 with no needle to start? couldn't hurt i suppose.

Agreed, which is why in going through all this and not just throwing her on it. Plus, as an engineer I'm *compelled* to ensure that everything is as right as possible.
